This is all revamping my feeling that game and the ending was not finished in the way they wanted to. Maybe the core elements were there, like stupid-star-kid, but there is just so much evidence that key plot elements have been removed or were never developed.

Normally you might be correct, but these are listed as "dream" and unless I'm totally mistaken, there are no broad-leaf trees in the dream sequences.

As a programmer/designer myself, you don't give something a very specific name like "dream" without a purpose, unless you're a very very bad programmer.

They're also listed as "bioA_end003_planet" so that discounts them from the dream-sequences, too.  Unless they are a re-used asset, but why would they add them twice? Is there any other mention of the foliage assets in other files?

True....but let's not get too carried away.  It might be it was simply given the dream prefix becasue it was a "dream like paradise world" or something of the sort.  Or maybe it's part of an old idea that got scrapped.....

I don't believe in that indoctrination theory exactly, but if this turns out to have been a false ending (and they're giving us the real ending for free!) I'm officially a Bioware fan again.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. Hell of a way to prevent used game sales if you can't get the real ending without a new code.

In the sequences there are only dead foliage. The trees are barren and much of the area looks dead or a lot like trees in autumn.

I don't recall any green foliage in the sequences.
