ME1: Pure win.
ME2: Win
ME3: Win, until the end.

After all that win, they deserve a chance to redeem the ending. I'm waiting until I have all the evidence in front of me. I'm invested in Shep's story, I'll give them till the end. Once all the DLC for ME3 is out (which I'll buy *shrug* I have the money) and I see what they intended, I'll know better what they were doing. Then I'll decide.

That being said, I don't like day one DLC. I don't like mandatory multiplayer. On those two alone, it means I'll be wary about getting into a new Bioware IP. Even a new ME series.

I wouldn't say I've given up on them but I am starting to wonder what to expect from their games, and that's new. I also wonder if us nerdy rpg loving types are still the demographic BioWare is aiming for, or if they want more widely accessible games now.

I'm certainly not giving up on Bioware because 10 minutes of more than 150 hours of entertainment disappointed me. I actually find this mentality to be rather disturbing.

Those 10 minutes are what happens when you cede control over to EA. As long as EA continues to have the final say, this WILL keep happening.

I'm interested to find out how this whole fiasco ends, but my opinion of BioWare has been irrevocably tarnished. The days of preordering their games and standing in line at midnight are long gone. From now on, I'll wait a few weeks and see what the player consensus is, and if I do decide to buy the game, I'll end up buying it used.

So yeah, you could say I've given up on BioWare.

because the rest of the series is so good I'm giving them a chance to redeem themselves at PAX and the new DLC.
If it's just a clarification then I'm done with Bioware.

Sorry, but I'm not the "hive mind" type.  I'm perfectly capable of thinking for myself.  I'm not going to boycott Bioware just because you or someone else says I should.  To quote a very old show from the 70's, "Up your nose with a rubber hose."

I love how some people somehow think a month is a long time to decide, much less develop, something like this. Sure, they should've come out, like, THE NEXT DAY, with a fully developed, guaranteed-to-be-made new ending.

Ell Oh Ell.

Wow, I've never been obsessed over anything enough to be willing to stand in any line at midnight for it.

I am not giving up yet.
If they will give us clear statement: "F-u 94% of fanbase, we are not going to give new, better, logical endings." Then I will give up. For now, ME universe means to much for me.
Then If I will give up, BW, EA will never even see a shadow of my money again.

The industry thrives off impatience and pre-orders. Just have a 'wait and see' attitude. It will save you a lot of money, just look at the sales on Steam.

Why would you give up 2 1/2 days before pax?

So how did you come by that "94%" number? Is that a guess on your part?  Do you have hard facts to back up that claim?  Just curious.

I'm only done with Bioware if they change the ending. An interactive comic offering more detail would be fine, but I'm ultimately happy with the ending how it is.

Same here.

So I think this has been touched on some, at least with the mention of the Witcher 2 which I will absolutely check out, but if Bioware gets put in "time out" due to ME3's ending until it proves itself reliable again where else do you go for XBOX 360 RPGs? I'm a casual gamer who is pretty much RPG exclusive, so I have simply fallen back to Bioware as my go-to RPG publisher because they have always been dependable. I play Bethesda too, but for me the character development is a bit lacking in Bethesda RPGs. Skyrim got a little better in this regard - particularly with the Companions quest line - but most of the NPCs feel stiff and one dimensional. So, I guess what I'm asking is if there are any smaller publishers out there or game titles that you would recommend as being like what Bioware was ala Jade Empire, DA:O and ME1? For better or worse I prefer emotional investment in my RPG.

ME3 is like going on a family vacation, spending an obscene amount of time driving to the destination only to get there right as a nuclear missile airbursts the place, destroying your car, killing your family and giving you terminal cancer from the fallout.

Yeah, the 150 hours before reaching this catastrophe was amazing, but if you honestly think it justified getting your vacation resort nuked, you have some serious mental issues.

THAT is the problem with ME3's ending. It killed everything we ever loved about the game and made the amazing journey to the end completely pointless.

What makes anyone confident that BioWare will do more than sell an interactive comic book that tries to "explain" the crappy the ending we all got? It is quite clear that EA has already made its bank and that no one cares anymore. It's been nearly a month since the game's release. The media doesn't give any airtime to the Retake movement anymore. It's dead, and folks like me have moved on. From Mass Effect. From BioWare in general.

The upcoming PAX East conference will simply be another bit of PR doublespeak intended to soothe those who aren't intelligent enough to parse through the words.

There isn't going to be a new ending. Just a "clarified" one.

Give it up, comrades. It's time to seek something new to obsess over.

I've already moved on. Didn't need your direction nor do I think the do any others. They'll make up their own minds and maybe they'll change Bioware's and maybe they'll just vote with their wallets.

Either way it's out of both of our hands.
