I personally believe their development of MP caused the anemia of the SP campaign. They were so gung-ho to appease the minority of gamers who wanted MP that they screwed up the meat of the game (see Talia's picture as one example) for the rest, and it explains a lot if you look at it from that perspective. Not surprised though, BioWare and Lucas Arts screwed over a number of loyal fans by scrapping KOTOR III in favor of an MMORPG.
any other hardline SP players prefer MP?

I don't like mp in any game.Work with the public 6 days a week and have a bar 2 blocks away if I feel like socializing.Game time is my time.i originally got mass effect because it was sp and until now was the only game I got all the achievements in,so I'm pretty pissed that because of pandering to mp's I can't get all of them in ME3.I agree that focusing on mp is what screwed up this game.Everyone keeps talking about DLC with a new squad member or mission when the odds are like any other game with mp it will just be maps.that's how EA works and why I was so upset when they got their sticky fingers into the franchise.I told my buddy then, that they would go mp.Hope I'm wrong but if I'm not I'm done with Bioware and sadly this game that I was planning playing all 3 back to back again.Nothing against people that play mp,both my brothers are mp exclusively and they both believe it has no part in a game that was built on sp.

MP is okay. I get bored with it pretty quickly.

The MP is solid, but not particularly groundbreaking. It makes an interesting diversion, but unlike something like Battlefield, I would never have bought the game just for that component. Yes, MP games are hot, but I don't want all my games to have multi-player. Still, their experiment with MP could have been worse. It's just not necessary.

I got bored of MP after like 20 minutes. I had to increase my galactic readiness with the iOS apps, Datapad and Infiltrator.

I don't prefer multiplayer, but I noticed that when I was just playing for fun, rather than getting my EMS up, it was way more fun.

MP was fun. Hell, I even made a few XBL friends. But horde mode always gets old without something to break it up. The ending was such a let-down that I can't bring myself to play SP at all. If they gave us a competitive MP, I might be able to give it a shot again. But as of right now, I have no desire to even touch the case.

For me the Multi-player was incredibly repetitive and boring. Limited stages, only three types of enemy and worst of all only one game mode.

I'd play multiplayer if it was something other than the Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter "Athiest" scene. When enemies come at me in waves I just think of that scene and I can't focus on the game anymore.
That and of course I own a Xbox, and everybody sounds awful through my mic. Kind of like they're all sitting on top of their balls.

.... Used up time and money that could've gone into fleshing out SP. A shame, really.
It was intended to be a stand alone game, a project which got scrapped. It was dev'd by a different team and included as part of the ME3 game as a bundle instead. It didn't, at least not directly, use up resources that otherwise would have been invested into SP (although I do agree that SP should have had some additional resources thrown at it).

No. Adding multiplayer compromises both, to the detriment of both.
At present, of course, MP is probably far better than trying to go through the story for pretty much everybody, but it's not a ringing endorsement.

I play it sometimes to dull the pain. if they fix the endings i'll jump back on SP like crazy and finish my other 5 sheps.

MP is decent. Too repetitive though... The challenge becomes not being snuck up on by characters with the poorly executed OHKO abilities.

same. I found MP fun and it took me until the past weekend to finally finish SP. I really hope for some more MP DLC expansion and fun. Will probably do another playthrough where Ashley is VS just for the sake of it. But I do play MP a lot and find it fun.

I honestly find the MP a little dull. If you end up in a good group it can be fun, but its repetitive, and I really dislike the reward system. Mainly play it to keep galactic readiness up.
As someone mentioned above, I would sacrifice it for more SP content.
Yeah, it gets boring and hte multiplayer isn't special.

The multiplayer is fun, but it's extremely repetitive. I can't even play it anymore.
The SP is far more gratifying to me (minus the ending), as I play BioWare games for the stories and characters, not for the combat.

Sadly I found the MP to be a saving grace to the game,(until Apr 6th, after that, all bets are off) after that horrid ending. I generally only play MP games for around 30 hours before I'm basically done. That said, to enjoy the MP of this over the SP is such a huge disappointment for me:unsure:

I played it enough to get through Reaper forces on silver. I do not prefer it over single player but it was fun for a while. SP in ME 3 is thousand times better than the shallow mp.
