I think that's something we'd definitely like to do, yeah. Some quests, by their nature, will only have a single approach - but others should have variations depending on how you're building your character and what choices you're making in skills, followers, etc. As to the second part - we'd like to do more in terms of self-contained consequences - stuff that makes an obvious and noticeable difference in your story versus the story of your friends.

I think both crusty and I had a nerdgasm hearing that. The context of the quest itself is naturally going to have an effect, but still; I'm glad it'll at least be explored to some degree.

YUS.

Yes. And I sure hope so.

Yes. If you killed him, he's really dead. Justice may be another story.

This is the most tantalizing response in this entire thread.

Ideally there's a middle ground between having the followers more accessible and having them feel like they're standing around, waiting only for the player to engage them. We've some plans, though I'll likely be picking the forumites' brains on this point.

The DAO camp atmosphere did provide more of a reason for them to just be hanging around, since it was the end of the day and people were relaxing after a day of travel/fighting/etc. On the other hand, I did like the idea of companions having their own lives in DA2. It just seems like if we had a sort of home base to work from it would be like the setup after you arrive in Denerim with Arl Eamon and the companions are scattered about the castle just "standing around."

In DA2, the area I think worked best was the Hanged Man for Varric and Isabela since that was a busy place, whereas those who lived in their own houses (Merrill and Fenris specifically) did just seem to be waiting for something to happen. To alleviate some of that problem, having the companions walking around and perhaps even talking to other NPCs would be nice.

I enjoyed the personal quests each of the companions had in ME 2 and DA II. Will we see something similar in Dragon Age: TNT?

Same as the writers for Dragon Age: The Last Thing... plus Sylvia.

That's great news to start my day with.

I apologize if it's already been asked, but is there any interest or discussion internally about a focus on gameplay and quests that are open ended enough so as to cater for different approaches, multiple solutions to problems and self contained choice/consequences as a result ala Fallout 1/2, PS:T, etc?

When you think of how many banter seeds and plot bunnies have come from the forums over the years, there may be more truth in that than you realize.

Do you think the fan base at large has a difference of opinion concerning development time from most here in the forums? I know we all mostly tell you to take five plus years, but I wondered if casual gamers lose interest if you have very long dev times. Or even if its something you even bother thinking about.

Will mage robes continue to be less robe like and more awesome? Because I like my mages to not be in floor length dresses and thought da2 did a great job improving this.

I am really excited about the idea of possibly playing with colors and fabrics of clothing and armor to give us an extra level of customization. My only suggestion is to do it better than Fable. My issue with Fable is that the color took some of the detail out and instead of say, looking like a person with dusky purple tinged cape all you saw was this bright purple blob. Not to mention they had awful clothing and armor choices. You guys are much better at those!

I ask again, Will we ever meet The First Warden, supreme leader of the Grey Wardens or see their HQ Weisshaupt Fortress located in the Anderfels?

I agree just to entertain us for the mean time... since its possible DA3 won't be complete until early next year say January or march. prefer a teaser atleast to make me feel I want more and add afew photos then you can take your time making it but not too long...

Why not just do two things, one provide us with a couple GOOD DLCs to bring the Hawke story to a closure. Two while they are doing this they could then take a year or two to create a very good story line, design, and not to reuse buildings, caves, tunnels, and dungeons. I really understand why people want the Mage/Templar war but me personally I would like to see a lot more of Thedas, and a Major conflict between most of Thedas and the Qunnari. The devs of DA2 has stated that the DLC will focus on HAWKE only, but after only 2 post release DLC attempts, DA2 is wrapped up with not much "clarification" on Hawke's story. One of the biggest letdowns thanks to Bioware. They say they care about the fans but what they REALLY care about is $$$$. <_<

Will Hawke and/or your Warden be making a cameo appearance or be playable?

Not playable, no. If they appear, it will depend a lot on how importable they are and/or our ability to let the player make decisions on their presentation. If we do it, it's probably best we do it right.

I just want to thank you for making things clear for us, it is sad for most of the players, I'm sure, but we can now prepare to welcome the new protagonist, if you guys think it is the best, so be it. At leastther is a chance that The Warden might appear

Just Thank You.

Ah, there is one question I wanted to ask. I doubt I'll get an official answer on it since Gaider has fulfilled the original purpose of this thread, but....

Are the Seekers of Truth a group that is comprised solely of people that believe in the Maker? Or can atheists be a part of the group?

David Gaider wrote...

Doubtful. I think there are other groups of Dalish that we could move onto, as would make sense, no?

I'd like to see Ariane's clan -- with Finn helping them decipher Elven words -- or Keeper Gisharel's clan, assuming the latter is still alive and wasn't a Keeper from centuries prior to the Dragon Age.

David Gaider wrote...

If we return to Ferelden or have a plot involving the Fereldan monarch, then yes-- if Anora was made Queen in Origins than she would definitely re-appear. That idea pleases me a lot.

Yay! I'm eager to see how Ferelden is being led with a hardened Alistair married to Anora while Loghain is alive somewhere.

I got to see Alistair showing enough foresight to want to have the Free Marches on his side -- a move his father also tried to make IIRC -- so that's good. Hopefully it'll continue.

David Gaider wrote...

To more distinguish the classes.

Bah I hated that decision. I don't mind them having abilities tied to their preferred method of fighting, but keeping them -- "them" meaning everyone except Mages, since I'd approve of them only being able to equip something with the AW spec. -- from equipping what they want and using the basic animations or some variation of them seems pretty bad to me.

David Gaider wrote...

No.

I'm not sure if you're being serious or just being Sten-like regarding a Qunari-centered question, but either way...

*in Dwarf Noble Wise voice done by Fred Tatasciore*
