I might have missed something but I'm pretty sure I'm up to date on quest items. I'm at the point of "Anvil of the Void" where I must go to the Dead Trenches through Caridin's Cross. The problem is, the Dead Trenches have not appeared on my map and the point in Caridin's Cross that should open them up just says "The Deep Roads". So did I miss something? Or am I bugged?

The dead trenches are in the deep roads. As well as a few side quests

You'll find at one end of Caridin's Cross, Ortan Thaig

Ok, none of that was helpful, but thank you anyway...

Use the exit in the southeast corner of Caridin's Cross - that should open up Ortan Thaig on your map.
