I noticed the new animation (above the ground rather than up from it), and would like to be sure before I invest too much in it.
Thanks.
Does Shockwave remove enemies from cover, as it did in ME2?

I don't think shockwave really does much at all, truth be told. I mean, it works like it did in ME 2 on husks, but you can't even use it against unshielded Cannibals, and forget using it against Banshees or Marauders. I leveled it all the way to six, just to check it out, and I never used it. Energy Drain is much better, IMO, since you can use it on just about everyone. It even beats out Reave in this game, FWIW, IMO.

It causes a stagger. Enemies hiding in cover will be knocked out of it and guardians will flail their shields to the side. Doesn't last very long though, and doesn't seem as effective against guys crouching in low cover as it was in 2.

You have to aim it, but it does knock unprotected enemies out of cover, detonates biotic effects and has a relatively short cooldown. It's become a toss-up on whether to have Shockwave or Reave/Dark Channel on a shoulder buttton (360).

Shockwave also works through walls. Very useful at time. (especially in MP though)

Shockwave can still knock enemies out of cover.
Improvement: Shockwave now travels straight in front of you and is no longer confined to the ground. This means that you can now aim it into the air.
Improvement?: Shockwave can now detonate enemies affected by biotics. This is an improvement if you like how "biotic combos" in ME3 = biotic explosion.
Nerf: Max radius in ME2 was 3.5 meters. Max radius is now 2.5 meters.
I have used it on a Vanguard, but would still rather have Throw. Shockwave still seems to occasionally miss enemies that are standing in its path. It is still a decent power for the Vanguard, but I would not bother using it for an Adept.

Comes in handy as a vanguard some times. Use it to stagger them out of cover then charge.

All (biotic) powers will knock enemies out of cover and since it's only useful against enemies who hide behind low cover (there isn't any point to knock enemies out of cover when you cannot target them - i.e. when they stand behind high cover) you can also use Pull, Sing, Throw, Warp, or whatever and accomplish the same. Granted, arcing powers is a little more difficult, but quite easy nevertheless.
Shockwave is useless for Adepts and since Charge and Nova will also detonate enemies (who are affected by another biotic power) not really worth it for Vanguards. It's good for the MP Human Adept but only because they don't have Throw which is much better.
