Cullen. He's an interesting character and I wanna have my PC mage romance him for dramatic effect. Plus anyone that didn't like him would get the chance to be really rude to him or maybe even kill him off. Win-win situation lol.

I wasn't a fan of Talis, despite enjoying Mark of the Assassin.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nyree, or at least a reaver companion who plays the part. It would be interesting to have a companion who laughs when they feel pain.

If he were a companion--and ONLY if he were a companion, such that we'd get to see more of his story from a personal standpoint--I wouldn't mind seeing Cullen in DA3. I suspect that we WILL see Cassandra as a companion, and probably Tallis as well.

Of the DA2 companions, I would really love to see either Varric or Aveline back again, and explore their backstories in even more depth.

Asunder makes me suspect that we'll probably see either Rhys or Evangeline in DA3, though whether as companions, who knows.

Getting away from existing characters, I would like, if the option is not available to play as such, to have a Tevinter native as a companion, as either a slave or a mage.

I would like to see either Bethany or Carver, or Charade for those who killed hawkes siblings, I would like tallis to return not as a companion. Maybe Varric. but i would like mostly new blood so to speak

I really want Cullen to be a companion. He's pretty popular, and I would love to see things from his perspective (I imagine he would have quite a lot to say, given his experiences!). But if he's a party member, he must be romancable. There's no way Bioware would be cruel enough to have him not be. I also really want Nathaniel Howe to be a party member (and romancable!) but I think it might be a long stretch since some people killed him in their games, and I would hate to advocate for more choices to be retconned. But come on... he's Nathaniel. If there's anyone whose death deserved to be retconned, it's him

I also want Tallis! I ended up liking her a lot more than I thought I would (though she did come across as a bit Mary-Sueish...). I just hope we see her again because it would make MotA seem really pointless. Rhys and Evangeline are cool, but I can't see them as party members (maybe NPC's?). I would like to see Nyree and Josmael in some capacity as well.

I really want a Tevinter mage in the party,just to get a different perspective on things. It would help if he was devoted to the Imperial Chantry, because I'm really interested in seeing the differences between the two demoninations. A Qunari female would also be cool (Tal Vashoth, perhaps?), especially given what we know about their roles in the Qun. I also would like to see a dwarf from Kal Sharok (or, if we don't get a party member from there, at least let us see what it's like).

I'd rather we had a completely clean slate as far as companions go. Otherwise we'll inevitably have complaints, justified or not, that said returning companions have "changed" or otherwise aren't as good as they used to be.

Female Kossith (Warrior with unique Dual Heavy Weapon tree and unique weapons)

Cullen (Templar Warrior)

Maybe Tallis (if they reworked the face and made it look more like Felicia Day)

A demon (that you can sway towards being good or evil)

A Tevinter Citizen (regular person or a mage)

I'd be interested in seeing Cullen return - possibly as a LI, finally - but unless there's an option to run a mature protagonist, he may be getting a little long in the tooth for that. I'd also like to see Carver return as a companion/LI. He spent all that time ****ing about being in Hawke's shadow. It would be cool to see what he was like on his own. Mind you, I know that won't happen. He died probably 25% of the time, and then there's the question about his career path.

Cassandra... I don't know. On the one hand, she wasn't a mindless Chantry tool, but on the other hand, Varric did wrap her around his finger pretty easily.

As for Tallis, nuke her, please. And I never, ever want to see Leliana again in any capacity. Ever.

Charade; she could be our link to Hawke, and I really LOVED her in DA2.  Plus, she's an archer!

Alain; the Starkhaven mage who was with Grace, I just feel there's enough raw material to make into a good companion.

no it's legit hatred, they put felicia day in the game to make money, and many fans do not care to see her again.  Bioware needs to write their own sh*t

The popular theory is that he's about 30/31/32 by the time DA2 ends, so I guess it depends how soon DA3 takes place after DA2. Kaidan Alenko is 32 in ME3 and still gets laid so I don't think early 30's is too bad age wise... However if they set the game like 10/20 years in the future then he'd be a bit too old for a romance arc if our new PC is young... unless he/she likes older men LOL.

I'm not going to be as extreme as others in this thread, but I would prefer that Bioware keep their own IP in their own games.

As for Rhys, you get into dangerous ground of blurring book/non-game canon with game canon, which is something they are trying to avoid. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a game, but I don't feel it's appropriate. Asunder was the first novel that took place since/after our game content, and after that point, they will have to be careful about how they mix the two media. Also, it would be kind of weird to see him, as I'm sure he would look nothing like I imagined. Finally, you don't want people to feel forced into reading a novel in order to appreciate a game character.

This is a nice list. Although I don't really see Nate coming along unless there is a strong darkspawn sub-story. He seems to be quite into being a Warden.

Cullen and Cassandra should definitely be companions and I suspect they will be. Or at least I'm 90% sure Cassandra will be a companion.

And if either of them end up being bi I will be so mad. Seriously bioware should just create straight homosexual characters rather than generalizing all romance options as bisexual.

- A returning character from Awakening (Nathaniel, Velanna, maybe even Seranni - whom we never found out what happened to. Did the writers just forget about her?)

Cassandra was never established as being straight, I'm not sure about Cullen though since they make it clear he's only into women in dao. I don't agree with them making characters all straight though, that's not fair to other players
