Nope, that talk of "barely more than a child" is utter bullsh!t and just an example of bad writing.

She is a well-respected scientist and ALREADY HAS A DOCTOR TITLE.... for 50!!! years.

This means, even counting that she is unusually young for such achievements, that 56 in Asari years is somewhere between 20 or 30 for humans (having a doctor title before 20 is pretty much impossible.....).

If you think about it, the faces of most of the romanceable female characters were based on models. Tali of course got the photoshopped image of Hammasa Kohistani, but Jillian Murray was Liara's face model, and of course Miranda was based on Yvonne Strahovski. I'm not sure who the Ashley or Jack were based on, but I've heard they were models as well.

Even Samara, who is an almost romance, is based on the model Rana.

I must say, I dont see much resemblance between Murray and Liara, at least not in the picture you linked.

Liara looks better, though, so it's not a problem for me:wub:

You can see the resemblance more in these two photos, but even so I don't think Liara is as close a match to her face model as Miranda or Samara. Those two look practically identical to their models.

I think is because Tali has more competition than Kaidan does. The alien love interests for women are much more alien looking (Garrus & Thane) than the alien love interests for men (Liara & Tali), and the only other human option available for women is Jacob.

I don't think the life stages translate that neatly. The only thing we know for certain is that age 60 is likely around the age of majority.
