[Faded-Myth]

So far, ME3 has hard locked on me more than ME1 and 2 put together. ME2 had its fair share of crashes, but so far it's been intolerably high on ME3.

I haven't noticed any specific areas where it reoccurs. It happens in a range of locations, such as walking from one room into another, or during a loading screen when heading down onto a planet. For example, my system hard locked last night in London during the scene where you talk to all your squadmates. Specifically, the issue occured in the room with Javik and Wrex. I had finished talking to Javik and was walking towards the door with Anderson, Tali and EDI when the hard lock occurred.

I often get hard locks during multiplayer at different stages. Right now I'm staring at a frozen screen during a Silver match in Firebase Dagger. We're in the cylindrical room fighting a Brute and some husks.

This seems to occur sporadically at different areas of the game. And it's a shame because otherwise the game is a lot of fun, up until the ending at any rate. The constant hard locks just makes it very very frustrating. It feels sloppy.

Only happens to me in multiplayer but even then it's rare. I get some stuttering then followed by a "DISK IS UNREADABLE EVEN THOUGH IT'S INSTALLEDLOL" window.

Your Xbox might be the issue here tho.

OP, I have the same problem. In fact, I haven't played through an SP game once where I haven't had the game totally freeze up, locking the Xbox. I wouldn't know about MP, since I only played twice and only to crest the 4K EMS mark and hardlocking didn't happen to me there.

But, in my SP games, all the time. One spot I have noticed it happens repeatedly is when I'm on the crew deck heading back to the elevator. Regardless of which way I'm coming around the elevator bank, the little loading icon pops up and if I don't immediately circle both sticks, the game will hard lock. And yes, I've actually tried not doing that, wiggling the sticks, thinking it was ridiculous that doing that is actually what stopped the game from freezing, but indeed, the only way I can avoid it is to toggle both sticks the second the loading icon pops up and continue spinning shep around and around until the loading icon disappears.

Otherwise, it happens to me all over the place. I could be in the middle of a battle, I can stand still for a couple of minutes on the ship, I can be upgrading weapons mods. There's no rhyme or reason, but it happens all the time. And since my Xbox is barely a year old and has more than 180GB of freespace available, I have both discs loaded on the hard drive, and this doesn't happen with any other games, I don't imagine it's my Xbox that's the issue.

It's a pretty new machine, and I play regularly across several games. Never happens with any other game. I'm a game tester, so I've looked at the various potential causes and I'm pretty convinced it's the game.

I'm a game tester, and I learned really quickly that you can find some of the strangest issues and evern weirder fixes. It doesn't surprise me in the least that wiggling the thumb sticks fixes the hard lock. I've seen some mighty crazy bugs in my time.
