Well, they return to ''acceptable'', or just normal informational lines. I'm talking mid game, not end. 
And yet some moments stand out ''good'' like if you try to stop Mordin on Tuchanka.

Agreed the conversations are quite disjointed and there are a lot of weird one liners in the intro.

The entire first mission was absolutely cringe-worthy. The committee was just awful, awful writing.

Nearly all of the dialogue in Arrival was shockingly bad. "This is not good."

My Shepard didn't yell when Cortez died. I just watched the shuttle blow up and Shepard went "..."
Kind of with "It's a damn shame..." kind of look.

I guess that's if you romance Cortez?

These two. I don't think I'll ever be able to romance Thane on a playthrough just because I'll get to this line and just not be able to take the thing seriously anymore.

Also in the first mission, Shepard reflecting about war while Anderson moves a pile of rubble. Total and completely out of place.
Everything about the intro felt out of place or forced. Looks like they were trying to insert an ''epic quote'' per two sentences. And with retarded entonations and camera angles, to sound and look more like ''ohhhh''.
