Not really the same question I have seen over and over...

So the first time I told Kelly to changer her identity I thought the next time I saw her she asked Shep how he thought she looked and then told him her new name.  However, this game the next conversation I had with her was the one about how she was sending reports on the crew to TIM.  The next time after that for some reason she just said something about the Citadel Coup (which hasn't happened... haven't even done any Tuchanka missions yet).

So when was that conversation supposed to occur?  I did Grissom Academy in between telling her to change her identity and then the conversation about her as a spy.

Which conversation are you asking about?

1). Changing identity.
2). Spying on Shepard.
3). Citadel Coup.

I believe the OP has an issue with missing the scene between telling her to change her identity and her confessing on being a spy. She's supposed to tell Shep her new name and complain about not being redheaded anymore, and she didn't for the OP.

Yes this is right.  Unless I imagined the scene where she tells you her new name and asks Shep if he likes her new look, then this didn't play in my current game.

Here is exactly what happened.

Initial one where I convinced her to changer her identity.  She then disappeared (as she is supposed to)

I then finished a couple side quests on the Citadel, scanned some star clusters, and did the Grissom Academy mission.  In between the star cluster scanning and the Grissom mission I stopped back by to see if she reappeared, but she hadn't.

After the Grissom mission I went back to the Citadel.  When I went to talk to her all she said was she had to confess something and told Shep about spying for TIM.

The next dialogue she had was not an actual scene, just a line that "I heard what Cerberus did during the coup..." although I hadn't even been to Tuchanka yet.

After the coup there was the scene where she thanked Shep for saving her again (which is right where it is supposed to be).

Yeah, the dialogue is rather buggy in the game, and not just with Kelly. There are a few conversations I'm supposed to get but don't if I happen to do X quest first before Y quest and then talking to person Z.
