Just curious, would anyone else be interested in a ME game that takes plac either shortly before or during ME 1-3? By origins I mean similar to DA origins... you could play as a human, Asari, Turian, Krogan etc. Start in your own race specific plot that will merge with a central plot for all races?

I just think with ME sequels looking unlikely that this would be a fun way to make another game in the ME universe... as I like the idea of a PC who can be of any race.

The universe is so deep, I think being able to play as an asari or Turian in the ME universe we are familiar with would be awesome... I mean imagine taking part in events that were only glossed over in ME (taking part in the miracle of palaven or actually fighting the early stages of the ground war on earth)

Playing from a different perspective would be fun imo

No. Not shelling out any more money to this lost cause of a franchise.

I would agree if the ending didn't destroy the universe anyways..

I would love it. It's a small gap though to fit humans in and have it not be after the ending.

What the hell would be the point? We know everything ends in technicolor genocide and LOTS OF SPECULATION no matter what happens.

It's the only way the franchise can continue now anyway.

I would play, yes. Play as Anderson until his mission alongside Saren, as Hackett or even as Liara on her quest for recovering Sheps body.

But of course I would trade all these for Blasto.

No, I don't see a point ATM unless there were major wars.
But even if there were, Bioware is too cheap to do what Project Red did which was give you a chance to see the war from two completely different perspectives, dozens of hours of unique content for each side.

Maybe if they fix the ending, then set the ME: Origins game some time afterwards. As it stands now, I would have to pass.

as much as I hate the ending... I for the most part enjoy Bioware RPGs far more then any other companies so I'll likely buy their next title if it looks interesting.

I just thought DA:O's "make your own hero" thing was excellent, and being able to play in the ME universe as a hero of my own creation sounds fun, to me ^.^

but I respect your opinion, as that ending was just insulting :P

No I wanted a game that takes place 1000 years after ME3. I think it might have been cool to find out 1000 years later that the Reapers had served some sort of benevolent purpose, dark energy, and now you have to clean it up.

Honestly any RPG were you cannot chose to be human will not sell well. A game where you have to be Asari or Turian would not sell. If you had the option to be a different race that is okay, but the majority of gamers only play human.

I've never generally been interested in Prequels of any kind and knowing how the ME3 ending is now doesn't make me jump for joy.

I thought the Trilogy was going to be the origins for a new hero until they ****ed up the endings.

A few months ago, I'd of loved a mass effect game that takes place during the first contact wars. Even shortly after those wars. It would of been a great way to look and how humanity got to where it was in the first game. But if they don't fix the ME3 ending... I'm not going to get emotionally attached to any more character/tech/whatever in the setting.

why couldnt you be human? The reaper wars was a huge thing, I dont think it would be hard to fit in a storyline from a different perspective that spans points from ME 1-3

nope, didn't they learn the lesson with DA2 not to deviate? they made DA2 feel like playing medival Mass Effect and it flopped...along with the lack of choices that mattered broken promises....so changing Mass Effect's style to a DAO style....I don't know....EAware's track record is 0-3 with their last 3 releases of DA2, ME3, and TOR.

I know why don't you make a game based ont he IT?? So in fact everyone lost and there are a bunch of human reapers now out there... And because its a "new guy" they are the ones stuck behind to watch over civ.

But insted of doing what they are told you can help other civs get a head start to kill all the reapers. You get choices of pulling up multiple civs or just making 1 all powerful civ...

First, I think Bioware needs to fix the current ending, creating distinct endings. That's a precondition. After DA2 and now ME3, I don't really want to get invested in their games if they're not going to respect their duties as storytellers.

However, if they do. I think it'd cool be really interesting/well done. You could play as a Salarian/Human/Turian or Krogan. You could have a race specific mission to start the game, similar to origin. The stories would lead you to a common storyline, which would contain various based on the race you play.

But, all of this depends on them getting their current game right.

Oh Cool I can reply to this thread and ME4 threads and DA3 threads and Bioware in general threads.

I'm done with Bioware the only Bio that remotely interests me is Bioshock Infinite and i'll wait for people [not greedy gaming magazines and penny arcade] to beat that and review before I buy it.
