The Catalyst (not Star Child, God Child or Starbrat) ruined nothing. He just presents to Shepard the options created by the Crucible.

And I don't find any of the games unplayable because of ME3 ending. I seriously hope that Bioware stick to what they said and just explain the ending on DLC, instead of ruining the game changing it's ending.

This amount of threads about the very same matter is so boring.

Starbrat. Sure Jar Jar is completely stupid and annoying, but he didnt screw up the entire series. And he wasn't the sole reason that the prequels were terrible.

Jar-jar was supposed to be an ass. He was intended to be funny rather than annoying, but still an ass. Lucas sort of succeeded in that regard.

Starchild was supposed to be a serious character, the penultimate bad guy of the series. Instead, we can barely take him seriously. Many of us can't even play the games knowing that the big secret behind everything was such a cop out. That is a far greater failure in writing and a damage to the franchise than anything Lucas has ever done. Crystal Skull was a joke, but Raiders of the Lost Ark is still outstanding. Jar-jar was lame, but the original trilogy is a standard against which science fiction is still measured.

Yeah. BioWare wins the contest for "Character to kill a franchise the quickest".

Starkid is like...if Jar Jar has something that's like a Jar Jar to him, and that has something that's like a Jar Jar to it, then the thing that that shudders at the thought of has a nightmare about horribleness, that would be Starkid.

Jar Jar only ruined the Phantom Menace. I can still watch Episodes 4-6, without any hatred. Hell I can even sit through Episode 3 if I have enough alcohol.

Star-Jar ruined 3 games. Roughly 120+ hrs of my life. And he cost me $200. I want all of that back BW!!

I didn't mind Jar Jar as a child, Starbrat has ruined 100s of hours of gameplay for me and removed the replayability of the trilogy

Jar Jar wasnt the only one to give Palpatine emergency power he was just the one to break the tie besides at least you can watch the final three movies. While the Citadel/Star-Child/Jar-Child what ever you want to call him kid the 3rd final game.

Starkid, Jar Jar wasn't really that bad, he was annoying and stupid and a steroytype, yes, but he didn't ruin the prequels on his own, he was much like the ewoks, not playing a very important role and mostly being comic relief.

Starbrat ruined the entire ME series practically on his own. Ret-con removal of him or maybe indoctrination theory is needed to save the series, probably. I hated star-kid-god-hologram-brat-thiny 1000x worse than Jar Jar.

Star-Jar is FAR worse. Jar Jar was bad, but he was only part of the problem with Episode 1. A big part, but removing him still leaves all kinds of issues. He may be the biggest piece of the fail pie, but the rest of the pie is still much bigger.

Star-Jar on the other hand is almost literally directly tied into everything that is wrong with the ending, on both a storytelling standpoint and from a logical one.

Bioware deserves props for that. They made a character worse than Jar Jar.

I try to avoid commenting on the ending so that I can, hopefully, stop caring, but I'll say this. The godchild is worse. Jar jar was noisy and irritating, but that was pretty much it. The godchild basically sent the entire Mass Effect lore into oblivion in less than ten minutes.
