To Grub,
I understand you are busy and that it prolongs finishing this ending. I have seen it happen with a lot of fanfiction writers so I am used to it.
I just want to pay respects to your story because out of the numerous fan endings I have read, yours is by far the most thought out and structured. Heck, you actually wrote yours like a script so that is a point to you right off the bat.
I will say my biggest complaint is the way the Garrus goodbye plays out. It seems a little hokey that the bartender would be completely unaware of who Shepard is and more so that there would be an impromptu bar fight after much of Palaven has been decimated by Reapers. Then again, that final line Garrus says was just so spot on that it almost makes me forgive it. Perhaps if it progressed more naturally to that final point I would have bought it more.
That said, I have few other complaints. Very well done and I do hope to see more updates!
I know that grub had lots of epilogue ideas that took place on the citadel but then he remembered that the citadel was destroyed and had to replace his ideas to other locations. the bar fight could've been one of those like "after they cleared the bodies and life returned to normal, here's what is happening"
thanks for the comments though
No worries. I think it is still a good idea for sure, especially with the way it ended. If it was just polished a bit more without making it seem like that bartender and a bunch of those patrons were the biggest idiots in the universe, I think it would play out more organically.

grub also told me it was basically a first draft, so I'm sure if he worked on it some more it would be a lot better!
and I agree, it does seem a little contrived just to have a bar fight with garrus. if Grub ever actually feels like caring about Mass Effect again after today's "nightmare," and I hope he does, I'll certainly argue those points with him! :

Nice. I am sure it will work out well either way. This is still probably the best fan written alternate ending I have read anywhere, in spite of any quibbles I have with it.
And if there is anyway as a fan I can lend assistance to this ending, I would be happy to do whatever I could. Seriously, the fact Grub wrote it as an actual script instead of fanfiction or some other means shows he is a very talented writer. I'd love to support and aid that talent!

Bravo to Grub for making an awesome ending with actual closure and epicness! Really hope to see it finished sometime, to see how my 100% Paragon shepard interacts with his friends leaving.

Was anyone else expecting to see an alien pop up and say "Now everything changes" at the end of Refusal Ending?

12 planned endings
All the others that currently exist plus more:
a second synthesis ending
a couple more possibilities for people who like to talk
a second traditional "fight it out" ending that is actually based on game history and EMS
and maybe a surprise or two..
also starchild dialogue from EC included with even more information to wrangle out of starchild if you like. more on the origin of the reapers and the tragic history of the first cycle... You can ask him so many questions it can actually lead to two ending paths before the color endings are introduced!
no ETA, as always, but they are definitely being written... so keep tabs, folks! grub is set to prove what 5-6 months of just-for-fun work can accomplish... :

one last extra Control ending with multiple outcomes based on EMS and Shepard Resistance points. that means there are paragon neutral and renegade control endings.
Grub promises that's all the endings there will be. he doesn't think he can write anymore than that. he says, and I quote, "Well, folks, I've exhausted all reason at this point. When I'm done, I seriously doubt many will find an ending that didn't match their general vision in some way, shape or form. Bioware apparently said 16 endings pre-release. Hope 13, with variations, is enough. Wish me luck, guys! And of course, the character resolutions have not been forgotten...so much work. But it's good work!
P.S. Bioware, please stop adding onto your ending! I literally have, like, 35 pages now of Shepard arguing about every facet you guys have introduced. Script to screen, that's over a half hour of interactive exposition if you decide to explore every single branch. Whoa. Keanu Reeves whoa."

Any ETA for the final draft? This puts most other fan endings to shame, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished
there's just so much work to be done... there really is! and I think a part of it is grub's a bit, I duno.. obsessed with quality? he tells me he keeps tweaking a couple things to fit in better with the new endings (not the DLC, but the new endings he's adding.)
he has recently said he's finally happy with the initial showdown between shepard and the catalyst though. and he's starting to dive into the logistics of the "reason" ending now. things are definitely still shaping....
and yeah, I guess I'm getting a little impatient too, but i have to remember that it's a fan work and he's not getting paid, hah
also, I forget if I mentioned this, but he's starting to write actual separate dialogue for kaidan and ashley.
works like this.
ASHLEY/KAIDAN
(Ashley)
Blah blah blah.
(Kaidan)
Yadda yadda yadda.
so now they're not just different faces with the same dialogue! yay! and he also thinks he's getting a better handle on how to write the two characters. the material is growing all the time, so I can't wait for it to finally be done

Tell Grub if he wants to have someone else proofread it, I am still open. He should have my email.

Does Grub say something about when will another version be ready for us?
