can someone please help , is anyone having similar issues

I'm having the same problem, and I can only launch the game by opening the core EXE directly. If I try to use the launcher it opens the "configuration" tool and that crashes about halfway through checking my system specs. I thought it might be because I had XP SP2 when I first installed it, but I installed SP3 and reinstalled the game and there's no change at all.

I'm having this problem as well. I've tried running in full, windowed, various windows, increasing and decreasing settings. Having nothing open in the background -- it still skips. And when we get to the videos of the Grey Wardens everything is terribly choppy.

I was having this problem as well. It turned out it was a problem with my AMD Dual Core processor. I went to the AMD site and downloaded the AMD Dual Core optimizer and everything has worked perfectly since.

Also, if that doesn't work, you may want to start the game, then alt-tab out and start the task manager. Find the dragon age process and right click and select "Set Affinity". Then uncheck all but one of the CPU's.
