Petition for another Rogue NPC

What were you thinking?
Every time i hear her go "I can't go on like this" with that phoney accent, i hope she will die for good. I derive pleassure from having her walking around with as many injuries as possible.
There is just one other Rogue NPC but he comes much later in the game and he sucks at picking locks. And more importantly I don't trust him, he might be a homosexual and I don't want him around me in camp at night.
So why not let us have a neutral rogue without homosexual tendencies that doesn't annoy the hell out of people, please?

Some of this could be solved by letting you do all of their early levels (like... maybe you get everyone at level 4.. or something and you get to assign the points for all the difference in levels when they join).
If you want a rogue to pick locks with, you're kind of stuck with Leilana unless you want to spend three-four levels catching him up on traps/locks. Levels he could be using for combat stuff if he'd already learned traps/locks like he says he had.
Another option wouldn't be horrible, but you could say the same of mages. There's only two of them, and they're both somewhat polarizing. Wynne is very goody-goody, which can cause some issues. Morrigan has her own set of issues (not the least of which is a spec that kinda sucks).

im thinking about just going human rogue, taking ranger and using the bear to tank bosses for me.
im thinking if i take morrigan and spec her for mainly crowd control spells its the only time ill ever really need a real tank anyways.

By the way, both Leliana and Zevran swing both ways. You should hear how Lel hits on Morrigan.
Also, the above post is probably the best answer to that question.

Oh lawdy, I'm going to keep my eye on this thread.

Unless you play a rogue yourself you're stuck with Leliana, who might very well be the most annoying NPC in any RPG, ever...

Based on the dev posts on this subject, it is extremely unlikely that a new joinable character will be added to the game. Historically, "petition" threads have been locked, as a bunch of people saying "signed" or the equivalent is considered spam.
then maybe this would be something to consider:

I also do not like the current options, so therefore I always play as a rogue - personally, I think that the talent should be changed to a skill.
Stealing is as much a talent as a skill, so the only "good" reason why stealing is a skill and open locks is a talent, is to persuade/force the player to use one of the rogues! - why? - I really cannot say, imo rogues offer great gameplay even without the ability to open locks.

By the way, the actress that plays her is French so I'm not sure what "faux-accent" you're talking about.
Unless you mean that the actress isn't Orlesian.
In which case... you're right.

Then reject him. How hard is that?
I find Zevran hilarious actually and since giving him a blunt no because my character was already feeding sausages to Morrigan he's been hitting on Wynne and Oghren... which also leads to hilarity.

If you're a PC player just download the Respec Project and respec whichever rogue you like. That's what I've done with Zev in my party. He's a staple in the party now, does great damage, can scout around for me and do all the rogue-y things I need him to do.
And he doesn't hold you down and force you to do anything... unless you want him to of course.

She could've done without the lisp though, and no, that's not typical for a French speaking English. But as with all things, to each their own or as they say in French: "Des goûts et des couleurs on ne discute pas."

I think the OP is a bit homophobicEightManArmy wrote...
Whats wrong with a homosexual character in a game? Both him a leliana can be leveled to pick locks. To be perfectly honest Zevran is my favorite character. However leliana does ****** me off so I'll give you that...
Anyway, like he said, they both are great for picking locks, even though Leliana'll beat Zevran at earlier lv at picking locks, but he can be leveled further to take the lockpicking talents later on..

As for Leliana, I haven't spent a minute with her in the game but her specialisation on Archery would be challenging I guess. But I'm definitely gonna try it before I state any strong opinion. It might be fun in the end, who knows?
As for Zevran, I don't mind homosexual character in the game and, in spite of being straight, I thank BioWare for logical diversity they provided for in the game. However, I do mind Zevran being so obtrusive, always reminind how he wishes to **** me. But perhaps there is an option to turn him off by making clear nothing is gonna happen.
In conclusion, my initial feelings about the NPC rogues are not very pleasant but I'm keen to try different party configuration in my next playthrough and I don't want to refuse someting I haven't fully tried. (That is, I don't mingle with the other companions much in order to leave something for next playthroughs.)

Zevran is bi not ******.
If there were a need for an extra NPC it would be a Mage, not a Rogue.
