Title says it all. I have access to the valient as well, so feel free to include that when considering.

Well considering weapon weight does not affect squadmate cooldowns, really any of the hardest hitting sniper rifles will do. I personally gave the Black Widow to Garrus and Ashley.

The Viper or Valiant are good choices. Indra is as well, for those that have it. The truth is they fire every sniper rifle in the game too slowly, but the single shot SRs are a definite no. You'll get minimal damage output from them during the course of most firefights, which will probably begin and end in the time it takes them to reload and take a second shot.

I went for rapid fire with cyro on the rounds... seems to be the most DPS and makes the best math..
(spm = Shots per min)
122 spm @ 300dmg + 220cyro = 520dmg = 1057.33 DPS
42  spm @ 1,000dmg + 220cyro = 1220dmg = 854.0 DPS

I think you can see the multiplication here, but basically using modified rounds, you want to go with quantity being it seems your squad mates hit cover more than mob.

I'd have thought the general consensus is to not bother giving Ashley or Garrus a sniper rifle really as they are rubbish with them. The Squadmate weapons thread makes it fairly clear (and anyone who has used Garrus and Ash as marksmen also knows) they fire too slowly and have poor accuracy in ME3 compared to ME2 and as such are better with assault rifles like the Particle Rifle, Geth Pulse Rifle, Revenant and Falcon.

Whats the N7 Valiant like on squadmates? I gave one to Ash but I've no idea what happens, as I tend to forget she carries it and just leave her using her Revenant.

It's hard to switch out the Revenant when she's so darn good with it. Especially with Marksman activated.

Also, I gave her the Black Widow and she did pretty good with it. Just gotta be patient with squadmates.

Black widow, it got the same three shots per clip as the Valiant but has way more power.

Garrus has a 60% damage bonus with snipers, give him a Black Widow and watch him demolish targets not in cover.

Viper or Incisor works well. I haven't tried the Raptor with squadmates yet, does anyone know if it works?

I gave Garrus the N7 Valiant and he does real well with it I watched him shoot cover shoot cover pretty fast but almost like he had a single shot sniper rifle I never saw him take advantage of the 3 shot clip so I would assume even though he did good with it he's set more for a single shot sniper rifle like the mantis or widow not black widow or N7 valiant. Both the mantis and widow have more damage anyways per single shot right? I found this strange even though squadmates don't have to reload he shot his rifle like he was doing so with the whole shoot cover reload shoot action I saw. Either way I found him still effective with the sniper rifle especially with the 60 percent damage increase if you pick it. I always pick the assault and sniper rifle damage increases with his armor piercing bullets it's well worth it with his assault or sniper rifle. He's great as a weapon damage squadmate. By the way I usually set up Garrus with the particle rifle and a mantis or widow, I find him to do real well with these weapons.

Garrus is prettly good with the high damage rifles. Well, relative to most of the squadmates anyway. It doesn't matter which exactly, but he seems best with the single shots really... Mantis, Widow, Javelin. I don't find that he fires the Black Widow more often than the Widow. But with any of these, the targets feel it when they hit them.

This is a semi-decent example. Look for the huge streaks whizzing across the screen and the enemy getting hit. Perhaps Garrus is why the one guy accused me of not playing on Insanity, dunno. Garrus has the Javelin in this one, with Extended Barrel, SR Piercing, and his AP ammo:

Here he hits a Marauder I am shooting. Maybe he doesn't provide as much CC as with an AR, but the enemies do feel it when he hits them.

Black Widow or Widow.
