So, I compiled the "ultimate" equipment for these characters (as they are going to be played by me). I'm not 100% sure that the DA:O wiki is 100% up to date with the equipment, but as far as I've seen it seems to be accurate (at least to what I've seen ingame).

How I'm going buy all this stuff? Well not having any warriors and using shale as the tank. Also I'm using a lot of constitution buffs for my PC so with good luck I should have enough stuff to sell and not wasting too much stuff on herbal....perhaps....also i can sell every single warrior item (which are plenty).

There are few issues to be talked about (and any other you might come up with), but the main thing is that I'm not going to buy the wardens keep DLC, but I already have stone prison and the lucky stone DLC. So, you can add better stuff that comes along with DLC, but I'm sticking to these.

1. What gloves to Morrigan, she's already getting the +30% damage cold bonus.

From what I've seen and tried the armor set and ring set bonuses seem to fail when you gather up the best stuff, so no need to go all dragonarmor etc.

No way

Morrigan best possible amulet = Blood drinker (+4 spellpower but Blood mage only) or Amulet of the war mage (+5% all elemental dmg)

Zevran using a bow? Awfully stupid tbh

Best Rogue equipment is :

Head : Armsmans tensioner
Body : The felons coat (Like 10,000 DEX and stuff I forgot the specifics)
Hands : Red Jenny Seeker (+15% critical/backstab dmg)
Boots : Bards dancing shoes

Ring = Key to the city +2 everything amongst some other stats , is better for a Rogue than lifegiver , unless your trying to tank as a rogue or something

Edit : Well yeah Helm of honnleath is the single best headwear in the game but I find it looks incredibly stupid ontop of leather armor so I let Allistar use it

I think u didnt understand how alot of the game mechanic works,

for one there is a spell dmg% cap of 30%, there is no point of stacking over +30% cold dmg.

for two rapid aim doesnt stack, no point in using a helm or bow or rapid aim talent together, u only need one, in this case if u decide to use long bow far song u should use the helm with +5% ranged crit.

for three, it is very important for a rogue to hit +50% backstabe dmg cap, ur best setup is with rose thorn + red jenny striker glove, fang is optional, u can use the dead thaig shanker or Edge if u have access to that.

Since u running 2 rogue it might be more useful to go for a Str/Dex build on the dw one for equipping heavier armors to compensate the lack of top tier leather wares.

For four, constituion is wasted stats in unmodded version of DA:O, especially for rogues, get urself a different amulet for that matter, like spellward.

Toynya77: Well I'm not planning to go Blood mage on morrigan, well I would if she didn't have that crappy shape****ter....

Also the reason why i'm having the lifegiver on my rogue, is because Zev is having the other +2 stats. Also I want my roque to have a good enough health, so morrigan doesn't have to heal me or Shale too much. Same goes for using herbs (cost...).

Zevran using a bow...well it's better than for me to use one, I hate going ranged and...well he doesn't whine like leliana when you do something evil.

Sharog: I wasn't aware of the 30% damage cap, now that was usefull! Also with the rapid aim, i thought it might not stack and wasn't sure, but I forgot to add it on the list of questions, yup. Critical hit helmet it shall be. And also red jennies.

Ok, I now edited the list. I can't figure out any good gloves for Morrigan though. I chose to keep her robes and the Frostshear ring to bring the cold damage bonus up to 30%. Mainly because the robes are good and you find the ring on your travels (no need to buy one).

Also I added Jenny seekers to my PC and the 5% crit helment to Zevran.

IF you hate the idea of Zevran using a bow, then one can change the equipment between my PC an Zev, so the rouge will be a Archer and Zev will stay as a DW.

The game is easy enough as it is without micro-managing equipment down to its T. I had Zevran on cautious and running around with his bow just fine even on Nightmare levels.

Yeah but you can effectivley use daggers but still use bows when needed and Zevran should do the same

Amulet of the war mage is earned by playing Dragon Age : Journeys on the site and then it will give it to you in DA:O

Yeah, I know that you can pretty much beat this game with any items as long as you have a good party. Even solo you can play it without too much attention to equipment, but...I'm a little micro-manager when it comes to equipment, always have :) I just love it when you have a big party and you need to prefect the equipment!

The idea of me and Zev both being daggerhappy did cross my mind, but I would like to see some ..how could we say... eflish roles :) But i personally don't want to be a archer. Of course i could play the game as zev all the time...

Warning WALL OF TEXT  LOL  :

There is no "best" way to equip your party members.  What if you use a lot of spirit spells with Morrigan, then having the cold damage wouldn't do much, while cone of cone does damage and is by far the most effective ice spell (it's good to freeze multiple enemies and shatter them as quickly as possible and throw up other spells while u have that lil bit of time, assuming you lined up the cone of cold properly.  Dealing extra cold damage wouldn't help too much in that scenario as your primary goal is to freeze them, but if you threw up death cloud, you'd want more spirit damage.

So what you have may work for you, but not for everyone.  It isn't the best build equipment-wise for the way I build my characters.   But it is still a good overall build if someone isn't sure what equipment to use, etc..

But one thing, you REALLY do not want to neglect all of you other characters and have nothing left other than cheap weapons, etc... come the end of the game.  While I prefer to travel with Leliana (for lock-picking since I'm usually a Mage, although I have all achievements and have gone through this game 7 times, on my 8th playthrough now and ridiculously powerful as a Mage.. I made an amazing build to be a top notch healer and very powerful with offensive spells of all kinds, plus I have very high constitution, willpower, and magic.. with enough strength and dexterity (strength just incase I felt like using a weapon, but I normally just stick with the best staff in the game and once in a while switch to the best cold damage staff in the game >> I keep it as my second weapon set).. it's my preference being in this game they actually did a VERY good job with mages while I wasn't as impressed with mages in other games).  I also travel with my Dog, he has extremely high constitution, strength, and dexterity.... so he barely gets hit, lands most of his attacks doing a lot of damage, and if he does get hit... he has plenty of health.   Also I raise his willpower in each game to at least 20 and Magic 15-20 (so if I need to heal him, it will be more potent and I don't have to waste the spell(s) and health poultices, etc...).  And like you, I use Shale a lot... although I made probably my best Alistair build yet and he shatters everything I freeze so quickly.... for the end boss I use my Dog & Shale (both by then have around 50 base constitution, and then I have used pretty much everyone for the other spot, although Leliana does a good job with such high dexterity.. but Wynne s probably the most useful having a spirit healer, even though I now always make my playable character mages spirit healers as well, two running together is pretty much like having infinite health if u know how to manage them properly and set up the parties tactics well.

Although I've tweaked how I build my party members and main character throughout each of my playthroughs, I've never neglected any of my characters.  If you do every single quest, keep only what you need, collect everything else and sell it (if you may want to buy it back, instead of selling it put it in your storage chest that u get from the Warden's Keep mission if you have it, if not sell it to the guy in camp... but not when you first meet him or else when u leave and comeback, it may not be there because he restocks, after that u should be good to go and have the opportunity to buy stuff back if u do so before heading off to fight the blight and archdemon.

You will need to use characters other than your main four for one part, now I've NEVER had even an ounce of trouble with that on any difficulty (I never tried easy, but I'm assuming that would be even easier as the name implies), but I have read (not sure if these forums or another forum I visit here and there) about ppl completely neglecting their other characters and having no good armor, weapons, etc.. for them during that part and one guy had to retry it a ton of times using fists only LOL, the other said they had really crappy armor and weapons and had to retry it a bunch of times as well.  I now play through without my party EVER sustaining an injury, not even vs the Archdemon.... and my main character has NEVER taken an injury throughout all of my playthroughs.  So, it is very possible to have a great build for all of your party, without having to neglect them.  Just keep the best stuff for each of them, including the ones at camp, sell everything else or use the chest for whatever you feel appropriate.

Sorry for the novel, but hope that helps.
