Im tired of funny.
IF they really planned this
the fans will have proven to be the worst group of ________ ever.

I disagree.

What would be so great about finding out that you didn't actually purchase a WHOLE game?  That the real story was something that was always going to be rationed out to us piece by piece?

As it stands they're hiding behind "artistic integrity".  And telling us to keep our saves is just more corporate speak.

Fable fans go through this every single time a new game is released.  The only difference is that Lionhead only had Moleneux telling lies, Bioware actually had several members of it's developing staff all saying the same thing.  That at least gave fans the impression that what we were hearing and reading was the truth.

I used to poke fun at Fable fans for constantly believing Moleneux's BS.   Clearly I can't do that anymore. :?

I can't stop beleiving Moleneux. His accent is too awesome and convincing

"If fans knew what we hand in store for them, they would keep their saves."

If you as a company have to be making this type of statement, its pretty clear that you totally misjudged the response. If significant number of former fans are deleting their saves after finishing, this is pretty much a catastrophe for future sales opportunities.

Crazy thought:

Maybe Bioware didn't have time to finish endings, slapped something together and are now working on what would appear to be the most epic ending known in gaming. It would be the perfect summation of the entire experience, would give us the chance to reject Starchild and its logic and end the trilogy with a definite bang. And it would be free

Maybe they knew the endings would be crap and are going to announce it at PAX?

@occulo that's what I thought. Damn, I'm so confused. :(

A TV display uses red blue and green to make all the colors. But green is not a primary color cause it's a combination of two colors (blue and yellow). Blue red and yellow are primary colors cause you can't mix colors together to get them.

Here's a visual

Actually green IS a primary color...of light.  It is not a primary color of pigment.  If you break a white light into it's primary colors they are Blue, Green, and Red.  Unfortunately the molecular chemichal structure of paint pigments don't work quite the same way and so we end up with yellow as a primary color in paint, ink, etc...but this is only a chemical work around.  Green and Red light combine to make Yellow.  Counter-intuitive for all us artsy folk, but true none the less.

Honestly, if I knew what they had in store for me, I would have kept my $60.

Right.

You all DO realize that "DLC" to continue a story in a game is not a new business model, right?  Heck, even Bioware has done it before.  No one was this outraged at having to pay TWENTY extra dollars to find out the true ending of their Bhaalspawn story.  Expansion packs happened all the time.

That's right, folks,   the EPIC WORLD-SAVING story of baldur's gate didn't end in BG2.  It ended in BG2's EXPANSION PACK.  ******rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggeeee!!!!!!!!!*******

And those are still considered some of the best PC games of all time.

Is it really so outrageous to think that maybe this whole thing was planned all along?  that the true end isn't released yet?  just like BG2:TOB, yanno...

Gamble's statement was made before ME3 shipped. I assume this monumental backlash threw a wrench in their plans, so his comment may not have the intent it originally had.

I suppose. I see it as Bioware gave us the opening to be speculative and be happy or angry.
I just don't think they had any idea the fans would turn on them so hard before even TRYING to understand a creative motive behind it.

underestimating backlash can still be a fault. I think its thier major one.

Playing devil's advocate and saying this is some epic artistic move to not ship the ending.  When you do release it as DLC, are they going to ship the "real" ending to all those people who don't have internet access with their xboxes?  How about all those people who hated the ending and already sold their games back to stores (anyone noticed how many used ME3's gamestop has)?

The time for the whole "you were indoctrinated/whetever" to end was 10 seconds after the credits rolled, Shepard taking a breath and going into the real ending.   Having gameplay continue after the credits rolled .. that would be epic .. that would be provocative and we'd never stop talking about.

It makes me wonder if the writers of KOTOR 2 had some imput in the ending of ME3. Very similar feelings of no satisfaction

"If fans knew what we hand in store for them, they would keep their saves."

Here's a thought: let us know what you have in store so we can stop ****ing about this whole fiasco. There's nothing I'd rather do more than go back to enjoying the game I've sunk $200 and many more hours into. It wouldn't take more than a press release to get 90% of the retakers to shut up and wait patiently for any DLC to be released.

Why do I expect the PAX demo will be with a fixed-audience that won't ask questions that really need to be answered?

Why do I feel like I'm about to get punched in the balls again?

If you dont have internet then you are no longer part of Bioware/EA's business model anyway.  Even so, Jessica Merizan Tweeted that they were trying to make ALL dlc available in disc form for ME3 when asked that same question.

to the other stuff. yes it will be quite epic, cant wait to play it.
