Crazy thought:
Maybe Bioware didn't have time to finish endings, slapped something together and are now working on what would appear to be the most epic ending known in gaming. It would be the perfect summation of the entire experience, would give us the chance to reject Starchild and its logic and end the trilogy with a definite bang. And it would be free
Maybe they knew the endings would be crap and are going to announce it at PAX?
"If fans knew what we hand in store for them, they would keep their saves."

I'm trying to think what Bioware could have in store for us.
These are the same people who hyped "wildly different endings", so my best guess would be something pretty lame based upon how their previous comments stood up to the light of day. "Past performance is not an indicator of future returns" and all that, though.

The "clarity" they plan to give is almost certainly going to be Omega. It will clarify that Aria got off the Citadel before the space magic moved it and killed everyone. Seriously, I think all the clarity they will give will be Citadel stuff.

This right here...and I'd have saved myself $80 I'd have spent on Me3.

to the other stuff. yes it will be quite epic, cant wait to play it.
I don't understand why there are people who seem to be okay with the idea that a gaming company knowingly shipped out and had them pay for a game that wasn't finished. Especially with the possibility existing that they could try to sell the real ending as a DLC. That would set a horrible precedence in the industry.
How are people okay with this? It'd be like going to McDonald's, ordering a combo meal, paying for it and driving off with your bag of food. You get home, and all you have is fries and a drink. You call them and they say, "Oh yea .. it wasn't finished yet ... come back next week and we'll have your burger ready for you."
being ok with it and freaking DEALing with it are 2 different things.
I have been gaming for more years then some here have been alive. I have seen this trend coming a LONG time ago. what point is served by not allowing yourslef to get the end because you feel slighted. Thousands maybe millions of others will buy the DLC you will just be sad. EA is evil, they are discusting, vile... but the know what the hell the are doing.

I have Youtube, no need to WASTE more money on just a new ending, if we had more missions (Javic DLC mission was UBER WEAK AND LAME AND NOT WORTH A CENT) then I may consider it, but if is not Lotsb worthy then I won't botther.

You know what, that's what they said about Mass Effect 3's ending and look what they gave us. So until Bioware earns my trust back with semi-coherent ending I'm not really interested in what they're selling.

I'd be more OK with the idea of marketing pinheads getting carried away with trying to create buzz and make some sort of viral campaign that got out of control, than the idea that the core game team lost their minds and thought this was a remotely complete product as shipped. If those are the two choices I'll take the notion of great gamemakers and a marketing department that should be air-dropped down an active volcano.

Nah man yellow doesn't have enough artistic value. It's gonna be purple
not purple, Mike Gamble already debunked purple.
Because there's already a purple ending:

This. I don't like the idea of paying extra for an ending. But if this was the plan all along, it was a smart one. If this were any other series, I would have said whatever. L.A. Noire's ending was pretty weak, but I wasn't invested in the experience; I finished it and moved on to other games.
I am invested in the Mass Effect series, specifically over $200 for all dlc, over 60 hours per character, and over 5 years of waiting for this finale. Overall, with some small hiccups, I enjoyed every minute of the experience all the way to 3's conclusion. And those last five minutes ruined it. I don't like paying for a new ending, but my investment is significant enough that I'm willing to do it anyway.

"Please don't return the game en masse, that'll put us all out of work!"
Which would be unfortunate, but if this happens, and you worked on Mass Effect, you can blame Casey Hudson for not planning for the ending or having the team write to it, thus putting you all out of work while he keeps his job and gets shuffled over to another project at EA.

Anyone who thinks they intentionally ruined the reputation of the Mass Effect universe in order to surprise their fans or generate interest in the game is nuts. The price of the game new has already dropped by $10 on Amazon, it'll continue to plummet because it was so bad. It'll be $20 bargain bin material by the end of the summer.
