Besides, how goes BWs credibility these days >_>?
Not like you can take much of what they say at face value.

Right.
You all DO realize that "DLC" to continue a story in a game is not a new business model, right? Heck, even Bioware has done it before. No one was this outraged at having to pay TWENTY extra dollars to find out the true ending of their Bhaalspawn story. Expansion packs happened all the time.
That's right, folks, the EPIC WORLD-SAVING story of baldur's gate didn't end in BG2. It ended in BG2's EXPANSION PACK. ******rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggeeee!!!!!!!!!*******
And those are still considered some of the best PC games of all time.
Is it really so outrageous to think that maybe this whole thing was planned all along? that the true end isn't released yet? just like BG2:TOB, yanno...
there use to be a time when Expantion packs were cool. Oh man more story. more game, yippie
now its, what? sequel?!?!? RAGE if its not in one game for one price and available right now then RAGGEEEE
You guys are alright.

IF they really planned this
the fans will have proven to be the worst group of ________ ever.
Why? If Bioware really had planned this and was all one big marketing strategy, why should we be thought of in a negative light for not understanding or appreciating the most ridiculous, foolish poorly thought out plan in the world?
I mean really, if this was all intentional, then the fools are those who came in with the plan in the first place, not us.

to the other stuff. yes it will be quite epic, cant wait to play it.
I don't understand why there are people who seem to be okay with the idea that a gaming company knowingly shipped out and had them pay for a game that wasn't finished. Especially with the possibility existing that they could try to sell the real ending as a DLC. That would set a horrible precedence in the industry.
How are people okay with this? It'd be like going to McDonald's, ordering a combo meal, paying for it and driving off with your bag of food. You get home, and all you have is fries and a drink. You call them and they say, "Oh yea .. it wasn't finished yet ... come back next week and we'll have your burger ready for you."
*facepalm*
sorry, but the precedent to ship games with incomplete stories and with plans to finish them in expansion packs was set long long ago. and not by prince of persia.
People were OK with this for years.
They really really were.
Here's an example. note the date.
http://en.wikipedia....Throne_of_Bhaal
There was no MASSIVE FAN OUTRAGE as they completed Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. People took it for what it was, and when the expansion came out, *that* was the end of your character's story. And if you try to tell me TOB wasn't planned from the outset, you know nothing of game design/publishing.
So what's new?

If Bioware had any sense they would of just come out and say something already rather than give cryptic responses, and receiving so much backlash and price cuts

TOB was (and actually still is...) a great expansion, addition to BG2. To put it in the same league as DLC will be an insult bordering on blasphemy.
Except... do you honestly believe this "ending DLC" to ME3 will be in the same league as TOB to BG2 was ?

What's new is the directly contradictory statements made leading up to the release of ME3, the PR response that insists that THIS IS THE INTENDED CONCLUSION, and refuses to fully address the multitude of issues present in the current ending, all while insistently pointing at the heaping pile of "PERFECT REVIEWS".
Factor in the dead-set course ME3 is on towards all sorts of lovely DLC that will bear NO RESEMBLANCE to the Expansion Packs of old, and your comparison falls apart.

I'm not comparing the content of xpacs with modern DLC. I'm saying that games are planned to release "incomplete" and DLCs (or xpacs) are planned long before the original game is even finished.
I'm saying that all the self-righteous indignation on here about "buying an incomplete product" is...man, i can't even find the right word. Naive? Annoyingly innocent? laughable?
I don't know what the DLC for ME3 will hold, but to be angry that you'll have to pay more for the conclusion to the story is like....i know...it's like those people who were mad that the Fellowship of the Ring (movie or book) ended so abruptly and that there was no way that could be the real ending! OMG!

The difference is that the pre-release marketing material for ME3 clearly sets the expectation that ME3 is the end of the series. You cannot set that expectation and then say "just kidding, there's more".

Oh man, I hated how Fellowship ended on a cliffhanger too!
*Turns book over* - "PART ONE OF A TRILOGY"
Huh... Ya see, you've gone and made another crappy comparison.
Mass Effect 3 isn't a story in need of an ending... it's the actual ending of the story.
Period. Full stop.
That's what they told us it was, that's what was advertised, what we all stood in line and paid for.
And it fails that. HARD.
Not to say they can't make DLC for this game, goodness knows there is no stopping that, but they need to fix whats broken before trying to sell more bells and whistles for it.
