The ending was poetry. Thank you. Goosebumps all over.

Hey pump the breaks there. Charr made much better poetry then the ending
Admittedly Charr's poetry made me smile.
The ending's "poetry" made me want to throw my entire Mass Effect collection into a river.

The Tree of Life was poetry.
The ending to Mass Effect 3 makes David Lynch's films look lucid.
Somewhat interesting and relevant note: George Lucas originaly asked David Lynch to direct "A New Hope"

I kept reading the most terrible things. The entirety of the game had me engaged like none before it and I've been playing for a very, very long time. I thought it could not be possible for the ending to be amiss.
I don't know what game those people who whine and hate and send cupcakes played.
In my game, the entire finale sequence was pure, intense poetry.
Thank you so much for bringing art into the 12 year old ridden medium of video games.
Mass Effect 3 is a masterpiece as is. Change whatever you want if management so decrees, but this is the true, beautiful and fitting ending to Mass Effect.
Peace.
First response is the best to this, but really? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you must be completely drunk as this thing was just ugly.

It was Return of the Jedi.
I love David Lynch to death and his movies certainly make more sense than Mass Effect 3's do.
Has any pro-ender seen Mulholland Drive or Lost Highway?

Okay...for all of these people who claim to understand the ending, wish one of you would explain it to the rest of us because this hipster-esque "if you have to ask...you wouldn't understand anyway" bullsh*t is getting old.
But from the point of view that this was not IT, it's an existential ending. You existed to sacrifice yourself to end the galactic menace. It was your journey that was epic, the significant portion of your life encompasses this conflict and then it ends with it. Anyways it's the idea that's there, the execution is really poor even for something that vague, because the details to me are clearly in support of IT.

But I remain in full support of this community's requests and grievances and would like, myself, to have clarification and/or additional alternate endings. I do think there can be a way to make this work for many.

And you know, it says something the ME3's mind**** felt worse than Erasurehead.
Although I did feel like singing "In Heaven..." after the ending.
