Destroy is red,
Control is blue,
With enough EMS,
You get a green ending too.

Or, he's not a poor guy, but in fact a troll. He made an antagonistic thread and hasn't responded to anyone.

Explain how poetry absolves the situation of the ensuring galactic dark age,

Explain how poetry makes civilization still living even though every Relay exploded into a supernova

Explain why art made the Crucible a human child when it is of Reaper origin?

Explain why art took the conversation with Sovereign and rendered it useless?

Explain how art put your squadmates on the Normandy when they were literally next to you before the charge.

Explain how art explains the Normandy finding a paradise planet despite not going into light speed?

I am happy that you found the game enjoyable.

Here's the rub - there are more people who play ME than just you.

The problem with ME3 is that the series intentionally, and successfully, created diversity within its player base.  Then ME3, which was marketed as being a "unique" experience for each player, was created with a singular ending that would be satisfying to only one faction within the player base.

Why create a game series that would intentionally create diversity within your audience, and then tell everyone except for one faction that they are irrelevant?

That is the problem with ME3 - it ignored the expectations and plot decisions of all its player base except for one faction.  That is inexcusable when Bioware intentionally created that diversity in the first place.

I have no arguments with people who claim the ending is poetry..... I don't get poetry either.

Huh...

are you refering to the super subtle poetic metaphor of shepard with jesus or the oh so clever garden of eden imagery the writer tried to smash down our throats?

keep in mind they did destroy the character developed throughout the series and logical plot developments to create this "poetry"

Good analogy.  The ending was abstract poetry at the end of a piece of serious prose.

No wonder people are annoyed.

The ending to Mass Effect 3 makes David Lynch's films look lucid.

Art is subjective I will say. And what qualifies as art is just as subjective.

In my opinion, the entire series minus the last ten minutes of ME3 is art.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I will say this. Even if it is poetry, last I checked bioware is not known for their interactive poetry. They are instead know for their interactive.... wait for it... wait for it.....

Stories.

They are known for their interactive stories, and the endings defy what makes good story telling.
Plot holes, desecration of lore, lack of resolution, introduction of new character during the final few lines of a trilogy, demotion of primary antagonists to minions within the final few lines of a trilogy, and my biggest issue, shifting of major themes within the last few lines of a trilogy. These are all contained within the final 10 minutes of the ending.

Not that I am saying, poetry can't be used to tell a story, the epic of gilgamesh for instance was written in poetic verse, but it followed the basic rules of story telling.

I kept reading the most terrible things. The entirety of the game had me engaged like none before it and I've been playing for a very, very long time. I thought it could not be possible for the ending to be amiss.

I don't know what game those people who whine and hate and send cupcakes played.

In my game, the entire finale sequence was pure, intense poetry.

Thank you so much for bringing art into the 12 year old ridden medium of video games.

Mass Effect 3 is a masterpiece as is. Change whatever you want if management so decrees, but this is the true, beautiful and fitting ending to Mass Effect.

Peace.

yes my friend it is poetry, it is an art expression but just the ending, which has nothing to do with the rest of the series. Granted, if we just put the cinematic its great cinematic, but does the cinematic has anything to do with the series?... well.. no. And thats poetry.

The fact that you use words like whine, and hate, and basically have nothing intelligent to say means your entire post is going to be mostly disregarded.

Oh, and if this ending was poetry, then it was some kind of dirty limerick.  No..not even that, as they at least make me laugh.
