He was rude, that opens him up to it in my book.

Didn't take long for the insults to start... first response?

Glad to find one of the like minded individuals in the forums.

Glad you were able to find some redeeming value in it.

I suppose, if I had bought a game of poetry, and it had played as poetry the other 99% of the time, I might have enjoyed the ending more. But I didn't. I bought a Sci-fi shooter. And it didn't. And I didn't.

Okay...for all of these people who claim to understand the ending, I wish one of you would explain it to the rest of us because this hipster-esque "if you have to ask...you wouldn't understand anyway" bullsh*t is getting old.

Man dude you just don't get it. It's like all transcendent and ****...man it's so poetic and stuff it hits me here, gets you right through the heart man. *Takes a puff* And the colours, my dear god the raw power of those constantly shifting, undulating colours penetrate the very soul of man man, just changes you forever. All you dudes need to open your minds and let the poetry flow around your spine and the purple bunny rabbits who eat so much they eventually tranmogrify into camels and ****, then we can like hop on and it takes me through the desert to witness the birth of christ. That's where I'm at manzz, it all makes so much more sense than people copulating with logic and ****, you guys just ain't transcenedent enough.

I love how all these "The ending was great! Right on, Bioware!" people always open up with thinly veiled personal attacks on everyone who criticizes the endings. Hypocrites.

Some people have made the mistake of seeing ME3's ending as a load of contradictory, pseudo-intellectual cliche concerning a contrived, last-minute story arc, but clever people like me, who talk loudly in restaurants, see this as a deliberate ambiguity, a plea for understanding in a mechanized world. The points are frozen, the beast is dead. What is the difference? What indeed is the point? The point is frozen, the beast is late out of Paddington. The point is taken. If La Fontaine's elk would spurn Tom Jones the control ending must be our head, the synthesis counterpart our oesophagus, destroy our left lung, TIM's left buttock our shins, the space hamster the piece of skin at the nape of the neck and Shepard an electric elk called Simon. The clarity is devastating. But where is the ambiguity? It's over there in a box. Bioware is saying the 8.15 from Gillingham when in reality they mean the 8.13 from Gillingham. The train is the same only the time is altered. Ecce ******, ergo elk. La Fontaine knew his sister and knew her bloody well. The point is taken, the beast is moulting, the fluff gets up your nose. The illusion is complete; it is reality, the reality is illusion and the ambiguity is the only truth. But is the truth, as hitchcock observes, in the box? No there isn't room, the ambiguity has put on weight. The point is taken, the elk is dead, the beast stops at London, Chabrol stops at nothing, I'm having treatment and Bioware can get knotted.

I've noticed that most people who love the ending start by saying they were told it sucks first.

99% of the people I've talked to who went into the ending blind said it was some of the worst writing they'd ever seen in their entire lives, in anything, ever.

Coincidence?

I am part of this statistic. Just finished the game a few days ago (after meditating for a week to prepare for the said worst ending ever in the history of mankind bad ending). I didn't go as far as loving it, but the reaction was like - "wait, wha...?" and no rage that I've been expecting whatsoever. It just felt.. off. ( btw I chose Synthesis, because I wanted to save the geth)

Then I watched the IT video. And being a long-time fan of The Matrix, Inception and the likes, my mind was immediately blown and you have to forgive me for that. :innocent:

Also noteworthy - I didn't follow the game development apart from watching some trailers and reading some news telling the game had been delayed.

The ending was not in any capacity a good way to end the series, the issue is that it seems to not even fit within the lore of the franchise. It contradicts the entire series lore already established. I said this earlier on the site. The current ending was a good ending but not a good ending forr mass effect. The cutscenes were well done and for someone who is not really keen on learning every part of the game's lore than the ending is adequate. However to ignore the plot holes that destroy the story already established and the circular logic that is implemented creates for me a dissatifying ending with no link to the franchise to tie me in or care.....I smell a poll for me to create
