I was joking. Sorry, no offense intended.

Yes you are right, more option would have been preferrable.

Oh, I'm joking back, no offense taken.

Really an incredibly well written character until there's a dull thud at about that point in the game.  Otherwise briliiant.

I'm aware that if I were capable of solving all problems MY way, there wouldn't be a game.

But there'd be a lot more satisfying sex.  *nods*

Yeah, but can you actually picture Alistair having a dwarf for a queen?

Heh.  I had a male dwarf in a romance with Leliana.  She had to kneel down.  No thanks.  I'm too busy averting my eyes because of the awkward factor.

I think the "character pain" comes from HOW WELL Steven Valentine delivers in the romance scene.  There's an option to ask "You think you could care about me even though I'm not human?"  and he's got arguably the sexiest line in the game.  There's a soft chuckle and he says "ESPECIALLY because of that."

It's awesome.  To get that there and then to be told clinically at Landsmeet that "they" won't accept you so he won't...instant homicidal rage.  At least on my part.  But elven city origin is rough that way.

Jeeze I think we have alot in common (as do our husbands it would seem lol). I feel the same way...and in a sense it is that way for us. Looong story short, my husband is french and I am english (Canadian), and well sometimes in the province of quebec (where we live) they don't always get along. But my husband loves me, and stands up for me when some people are not very nice.

Right, that part of the plot is a sin of omission.  I'm accustomed to dealing with racism head on.  Total turn off.

So...we've basically handled every other political injustice in the game by running people through and then telling them what's what from now on, and we don't get the chance here?

Serious "drop the ball" moment. But only because it was going SO WELL up until then.

He is awfully quick to let you be The Decider after the wardens are wiped out, even though he's been a warden for six months and you've been one for all of a day.  If he hadn't had such a sexy voice, he'd have been firmly in the Friend Zone for that kind of move. =P

Amen.  I even tried to defer to him in certain circumstances or ask him what he wanted and you get variations of "Oh for Maker's sake, don't abandon me now!"  or "I don't know!  You have to decide for me!"  *sigh*

But now...NOW you know what you want and you're dead wrong and we can't talk about it?  Oh for crying...fine.  Now that I know what NOT to say I won't say it again.  You're lucky that your voice can melt steel.  Let's go.

I played female char first playthrou , i made her fall in love with Alistair . and i actualy cared for him. He was abit whiny perhaps but i cared for him extremely much. and im a male myself irl :P

My next playthrou i played noble dwarf and i hade Liliana as my romance partner (after 6836086 retries of dialogs to unluck her personal quest) so it feeled so good when i finally succeded getting her to fall in love with me . I was extremely happy and made a happy dance irl ... true story.

Many playthrou later i decited to romance Morrigan (that sexy minsk) She fell in love with me , and then made that dialog where she talk about love and you basicly have to dumb her and get like -30 approval. i must admit i was kinda heartbroken losing all that effot i hade but into making her happy.

So yea i diffinently get emotionally involved playing this game which is kinda akward since its "just" a game.

LOL, yes.  I chose that line as well, and was equally nonplussed by the "don't abandon me!" response.

I got a hug and a tissue and that made all things right in the world. But it was a bit of a serious kick in the teeth for my character, and that's the moment that the immersion in the "romance" broke for me. I still liked the character, but it turned into just wanting to keep someone you like alive, not the sense of "in this together" that I had going up to that point. Started getting a real sense of the true immaturity of the character as the writers intended and I was sad that I couldn't have someone as cool as my husband is. But then, I'd rather have the reality. Alistair turned into my son.

Alistair will leave you hanging.

Well, after having Duty stuffed down his throat all his life, one would expect some bits to be still stuck in his teeth. But yeah, he lost some serious approval with me from that conversation. Dunhart disapproves -15.

Yeah, this.  Ugh.  That was lame as hell.  It's the "I love you, *but*..." thing.  You've pretty much negated everything before the "but".  Kinda made me feel like he just wanted to pop his cherry before becoming King :P

Hehe.

Wynne.  Go grab a bunch of beneficial spirit pals of the beneficial spirit pal that has taken residence in you.  When I say GO...possess every body of every available darkspawn on that roof.

We'll beat the Archdemon down and we'll hand one of those possessed darkspawn/spirit hybrids the sword and all they have to do is drive it in.

THEN...the archdemon's spirit jumps to that darkspawn, that spirit is...well...still a spirit and goes happily back to the fade and tells the story to all other spirits in the fade and becomes the hero of Denerim.  We'll meet up later, I'm sure.

Now let's go have satisfying sex, all!

Huzzah!

I had never used Sten so I had stripped him of all his gear to sell, then during Leliana's song, he was just sitting there, naked. Looking a little turned on.

It was creepy.

I had two little glitchy awkward moments with Alistair that cracked me up.

First (this happened more than once) after speaking to Alistair at camp by the fire, he would return to his warming-his-hands-by-the-fire animation even though he was facing me with his hands right at perfect boob height to look like he was very very awkwardly feeling my character up, right there out in the open by the fire fully clothed. Made me laugh pretty hard, naughty boy.

I also treaded the line too closely between staying 'just friends' with Leliana, and keeping her friendship score as high as possible. Her falling for me led to a very awkward conversation with Alistair asking if I cared for him despite the fact that we had just moments before declared undying exclusive love for each other. Boy has a short memory...

Alright, I'm male, so, it might don't count - as you will now call me "jealous", but...

Alastair has given me the shrives from the beginning on, he was simple far to cheesy, to be true (or good), to fit into the "real" world.

From my point of view, he is this stylish looking chap, standing in the middle of the attention of all females, just because of his good looks and his sexy voice, but you know, there is nothing true behind this?

He was (and is), IMHO, just an empty good looking charming face, without any deeper character behind it.

Playing trough the game as female, turns out, my first impression was correct.

All he has, was it good looks to hide behind and his "duty" has excuse, instead of showing some backbone and stand up

to me and the "Undying" luv, he has proclaimed.

Just my 2 Cents, to Mr Cheesy.

I killed Wynne and Leliana after destroying the urn of sacred ashes...had to go back to camp to get some "Enchantment!" done

All of a sudden I find myself talking to thin air...and Wynnes voice is going....awkward...talking to Wynnes ghost after brutally murdering her....*Drop of water running down the back of head*

Where are all these women who dig sexy English accents when I'm on the town...?

I still think (from an earlier thread) that Alistair's perfect match would be Wynne. He's still looking for a woman to mother him. He even gives her his laundry to do. Okay, well maybe not all of his laundry... just a sock

:P

This reminded me of a song: www.youtube.com/watch

Could explain a few things.

Alas, I haven't had any awkward moments in the game yet, though I had to get up and walk around to psyche myself for killing Wynne last night at the circle tower. It wasn't pleasant and I probably won't play a killer again for awhile. Just doing it once to see what options there are.

Having both Alistair and Oghren do a killing animation on an Ogre, it looked like Alistair was humping Oghren while killing it. lol

Pressing the "Esc" button so fast, I end up accidentally killing most of the NPCs.

I intend to have my female Noble marry Alistar... and then convince him to sleep with Morrigan to save both our lives.

Something tells me that's going to get awkward.

There is a glitch in the romance scene cinematic when Alistair asks my PC to sleep with him. When they go to kiss, he starts warming his hands by the fire and she kisses the air.

I suppose I should have taken this as a sign of things to come - heh.

As I've said before, Alistair is custom built to be the total female romance option. Sexy voice, cute looks, funny lines, shy virgin awkwardness, and a bit of immaturity and inexperience that makes the ladies want to "take care of him".

As far as awkward moments go, I had some interesting encounters with him with my female city elf. I was playing the game with no intention of romancing anyone, rather simply going through all the responses as I thought my character would respond naturally. Somehow I ended up with both Leliana and Alistair falling for me. Wasn't long before they were both on my case about it, wagging the accusing finger, despite the fact that I had no intention of romancing either of them.

Ultimately Leliana convinced me to go choose Alistair, practically shoved me towards him. Funny enough I ended up sleeping with Alistair at one point but due to my character's horrible teasing of him he got rather angry at me. Oh well I was playing true to character regardless, I decided to just dump him and move on. Then I went to speak with Leliana and suddenly she's telling me how much she loves me, and before long she's inviting me to her tent.

As odd as that may be, it was also a bit awkward that afterwards she still wanted to have a girl gossip session about how good Alistair was in bed.

Something got mixed up and it was really funny. Alistair confronted me at camp and asked me if I wanted to spend the night with him. I agreed. Then I left camp to do this and that, and when I came back to camp I clicked on Alistair, which lead to the whole conversation leading up to kissing. Then he kisses me and asks me if it was too soon...after we had already slept together...huh!?
