Its only a cheat if you realized you forgot to power up and are too weak to continue past an area and don't want to have to come all the way back or even be able to find your way back.

I said after 6 good tries. If you cant win most battles with 6 good tries on easy with good character development, then maybe you need then to get another game. But those items (spell and tactics are most important to use during the battle).

Why is Call of Duty mentioned so much on this forum? LOL

Sadly I've never fought this encounter since I could never get Leliana's quest started in the first place for some strange reason. But still, something's not right if you're dying that quickly playing on easy mode. How much health does your warrior have?

Im the same. I'm an older gamer and don't have lots of time to mess around learning all the intricates of the game let alone remebr all the names of people, places, and things thrown at you in microscopic text dialog boxes.

I'm going through on easy but am enjoying the game:

Here are my suggestions:

Concentrate your level up points in particular areas for each character; don't spread the points out as you will have a jack of all trades and master of none.

All the different option for spreading out points are meant to make the game re-playable so you can play a diff way in another game.

Don't be afraif to run a console script if you find a battle you can't win after 6 or so tries.

Don't be afraid to run a console command to give you some money if you want to have fun with a powere item.

Read my other posts as they are very important questions for beginners IMO.

Master that task bar and arrange it in a good order.

Save batlle save battle save battle.

If i'm gonna cheat i might as well just exit the game lol.

I was hoping my companions could jsut hold their own while i go and attack how I please on easy mode.

Well you are trying to beat a game by circumventing its inherent design. That pretty much is the same as giving your characters God mode, or cheating.

Its not that hard. Go into tactics and tell Dog or any melee go knock the mages off their feet regardless whoeever else in on the battlefield. Or get the mages in your group to go freeze or stun them. Do this once and leave it and forget it. You don't need to adjust tactics on the fly on easy mode. In fact I think I made 1 or 2 changes the entire time I breezed through Easy.

If you only care about the story you should just wait for someone to upload youtube videos.

I also have a feeling that you still need to do a lot of side quest to build you inventory and equip you character better. Sounds like you are just wanting to go through the main plot.

You need the side quests to build you resourses to prepare for battle.

Even on easy mode you cant just stay on your own character and expect your party to do whats right. The party AI is just terrible.

You HAVE to, even on easy, setup the tactics for you and you party members if you want to breeze thru the game with minimal effort. Even then you WILL have to pause occasionally and control other party members to efficiently kill enemy mobs.
Things like party member under 50%Hp use health potion.
Party members to target lowset HP enemy. focus fire etc.

This isnt a single character game, its a PARTY game where you have to control all your party members efficiently to do well. Its not dungeon siege for example where your party would kill everything in sight while you watched.

I had the same thought wheni first got the game, but after reading some threads here and getting some tips i quite like the tactical natire of the game no, yes even on easy mode its a tactical game.

To get the most out of the game and story you have to put the effort in im afraid. Theres a reason why its labelled a tactical RPG.

if anyone wants to make the game easier, just kill the enemy mages as fast as you can, since they do tremendous damage if you let them be alive (and was usually the reason i found myself dying). what i usually did fighting mages, was using cone of cold with morrigan in them or using the tempest (the icy one), then u just kill them with your warrior or rogue.
Cone of cold is one of the best spells in the game, since it freezes a lot of enemies and even all the bosses.. so use it, and u will be fine in most battles.

In reality you still need to put in effort.

Its a tactical RPG for a reason.

Have you developed you characters well.

Do your warriors have dual weaponry, precise striking, etc and are you using it during battle. Do the warriors have good weapons.

Does your mage have to cone of cold and other neat spells to use in the task bar that you would have gotten from leveling her up.

I have a feeling your characters are weak and ill equipped for battle.

I thought there were several boss fights that were still pretty hard for easy (actually just one in particular), but the non boss battles were fine.

I played most of my first playthrough on easy since I did not want to do any pausing, but ended up having to do some anyway. I think it interrupts the flow of gameplay too much. On other playthroughs I'm on normal now and pause much more than before. Not hard though, its just annoying.

It shouldn't matter I'm on easy mode.

Geez, I guess I should wait until I have 2 weeks off to learn the methodology of this game.  God damn it.  I can't ever just take a break and enjoy a ****g game.

Well some boss fights and I know on in particular was insane, but probably was one I should have left and come back to later. Thats the only one I used a cheat for so far. I forget the name.

Its best to download and install a trainer then and you'll go right through.

Oh it matters and matters a lot otherwise I'd recommend that game called the Hobbitt which has a good story and is overly easy.

The game is just too much work even on easy mode.  I just wanted to have a little fun, not learn a whole new methodology.

Are you using healing potions properly? Make sure you have plenty of them.

Set your tactics for each person to drink a potion if their health goes down to 25%. It is the healing that allows you to keep going. Also, use balms and have your party wear spell resistant gear.

I don't think this is the kind of game where you can just walk through with little or no effort. Just because it's easy mode, doesn't mean you won't have to do anything. And I still say it sounds like you need to level up, if you are getting beat that fast.

It is a lot of work and is meant to be that way this give much more play time then lets say the new 4hr COD game. It also hooks you into the characters and sub-plots.

Trainers wee made so people that want to just play through the story may do so.
After that, maybe you will do better on a replay without the trainer.

well if you try to kill enemies with a vicious banana and some tree leaves as armour perhaps that won't work very well :P

C'mon Jenson... the game is already easy in Nightmare diff! And no need to wait for video tutorials... they are all there in YouTube! Go watch some then back to kick some darkspawn azz!
