Maybe you should use a healer, Jensen. Or some health poultices. I hear they work great for keeping you alive when your health is suddenly at 10%!

I'm out of heal potions.

Guys I have no pride when I say this.

I want to fly by in the game on easy mode with little effort.

Is that so bad?  99% of computer games let you do that.

You know what? I'm busy trying to find ways to make the game challenging because even on nightmare it seems like there isn't really any way to lose fights. I think the main problem is Bioware's reliance on scripted set-piece encounters. Once you figure out how to break the scripts (and it's pretty hard NOT to figure out ways to break the enemy scripted reactions) then the gameplay becomes trivial. The only exception is the world map ambushes and such, and that's only because the scripts are already firing by the time you have control over your party. Even so, there's always a way to cause the scripting to go into "brainfart" mode. So that's my recommendation to you. Cause the enemy AI to go into logic convulsions.

I just wish I could convince myself to be deliberately obtuse and play the encounters the way Bioware obviously thought people would, which is run in like an idiot swords a swinging and get swarmed by 2 or 3 groups of critters and die a heroic death, only to show up on the forums later and complain what evil geniuses the Bioware AI script kiddies are. But no.... instead I'm running around with low end armor and weapons and still finding the combat tediously easy and highly unrealistic. I find it a bit baffling that the programmers of MMOs have no problem whatsoever with difficulty scaling, but Bioware has never been able to manage it.

I propose there be a mode were one can pay $60 for the game load it up and the game plays its self while the person sits back and watches the amazing story unfold.

I expect to right click and watch and maybe hit 1,2,3 a couple of times.  That is fun for me. Anymore than that then the game becomes a job.

mm i suggest to read the book instead of playing the game if it's the story you are after.

a big chunk of this game are the fights so if you are to unwiling to try stuff like for example just equip your whole team with bows and such and aim at this one mob, apply whatever salves you have, buy/make the potions you need or just pauze a game or reload until you get it right then there is little reason why you should bother to play a pc game because you obviously do not enjoy a game like this then.

You can already do this with "Let's Play" series.

I was able to handle every battle up to this point, but these leilana assasins are too hard. All the fun I had has just gone down the drain.

I'm thinking about getting a refund for this game.

This sounds crazy but... I had a more difficult time WITH a mage in my party. Once I booted Morrigan and went all Melee (Dog, Alistair & me)/Ranged (Leliana) I started breezing through. o_O

I just wish on easy mode I didn't have to pause all the frickin time.

I really want a mode where I can just play on "extremely super easy very easy mode" where I don't have to worry about pausing.  I jus twant to see what enemy is in fornt of me, right click hit 1,2,3 a few times and move on to next target that's it.

Maybe in like 2-3 months when I have more time I'll bump up hte difficulty to normal and try what you guys do.

"You need the side quests to build you resourses to prepare for battle."

There are no "side quests". There are only "Oh, while you are in the area can you do this too?" quests.

Looking at some of these comments I have to assume that some of the people posting comments are Bioware plants. The game really isn't very hard at all. Even on Nightmare. In fact it is one of the easiest games I've ever played. Dunno why people are trying to make it seem like there's some monumental challenge to be overcome. Especially when they give you god-items as free DLC... I mean, seriously, how lame is it for them to be giving away stuff as free bonus material that breaks the game?

There's nothing wrong with playing the game the way he wants...easy is supposed to be easy...hence the name...

My advice is control your Mage and spells like Fireball and Cone of Cold with reckless abandon. They do a bunch of damage and crowd control the pants off everything. Since you can pause the game whenever you want, its not too difficult to put your mage in the right position to shoot a Cone of Cold down their entire melee line, without hitting any of your own guys, or launch a fireball behind their line of melee, or straight into their archers, without scratching your own.

LOL

The only possible way to get a refund for a computer game is if it's still in it's original wrapping, and you have the reciept for it.

Otherwise, the best you can hope for is for an exchange for the exact same product (if there were any defects with the one you bought).

There will be harder fights than this "Leliana's assasins", why do u want to give up just because of one battle? :(

uuggggh.... Easy mode specifically states i can play in real time.

You can, if you set up the tactics. If you just leave them on default, they will just stand around in many situations.

To increase their survival chances, just add a line "If health <25% (or 50%) -> use health potion: lowest". Then they will automatically drink a potion when they get hurt

i did that, but i'm out of heal potions now and morrigan doesn't have anymore resources to make more.

mm let me gues:
attack with melee first ...  this saves your squishy mage the agro (do not count on threaten and taunt or armor differences to work) and do not put your AoE spells in the tactics if you are playing at normal or above because friendly fire is a ****, in fact just concentrate on a few lower level spells mainly in the tactics so you do not need to worry about mana.
from someone who finds it easier to play with 1 mage instead of 2 of them ;)

I just don't get that.  I'm getting slaughtered at this battle on easy mode.

I won it one time finally but it was the most unsatisying victory I've experienced in the history of pc gaming.   I died, alistair died, leilana died, and morrigan finally kill the assassin leader with like 10% health left.

I don't understand. I kill the ogre in tower of ishal without dieing but this scenario is 257 times more difficult than that.

If the potions are becoming a problem, there's a place you can buy unlimited elfroot.

More importantly, try out a few other origins, mess around a bit on the same character. Don't take it so seriously, and definately don't come here looking for sympathy or commiseration - forums are never the place for that. Do another origin story and by the time you come back to the first character again, you'll have a bit more innate feel for the game, even if you don't know why. There are some strategy posts, but once you read them you'd say it's pretty obvious anyways.

Reading the patch notes, the difficulty level changes seem pretty straightforward; they sound pretty easy to codify into a bunch of sliders, and rather than Bioware just releasing endless patches for this, they probably should.

I agree, I need the easiest possible settings.

Ok now I really need to go to work.  Hopefully when I get back I can spend 2-3 hours and figure out how to beat this game on easy mode.. geez... I wonder if i should just play another game.. :(
