2 more days dammit, this couldnt have waited 2 more days?

No it couldnt considering it was sort of confirmed that its just clarification, i dont have a link to the post but its somewhere here

Considering no one knows what their interpretation of clarification is yet, we can wait 2 days.

Clarification basiclly means there going to give us a better picture of the endings not change them, i suppose we can wait but the forums are gonna be flooded by all the pissed IT theorists.

While you are under that impression, many others are under the impression that there will be added on content from the same ending. Both would be clarification. Nothing is confirmed, no one knows anything, so just wait two days.

Ok, I don't like the endings either, but seriously! First, they've already told us that they're working on something. Give them time! Second, why is it whenever something doesn't go quite right, someone immediately thinks "Let's sue!" Good grief, we have enough ridiculous lawsuits already, how about we be the one group that shows a little restraint. Yeah, if they decide not to do anything, I'll be upset. I'll probably at the very least be extremely cautious about buying any more of their products. But I think litigation should be a last resort, like someone did something really malicious to hurt you. This wasn't malicious. I'm sure they honestly want to put out a good product. And if they fail, let the market handle it, not the courts.

Considering the evidence that can be brought to bear by the sueing party, this is not necessarily the case. EA and BW have been caught with their pants down and literally with their..hmm can skip that word to stay fairly civil :)....in their hands, and it's hard for any court to ignore it.

I'll still say that it's wise to hold off on this course of action until PAX and see what happens. If literally nothing is adressed, then a lawsuit is justified in my opinion.

Well, to be fair we didn't know what they meant by 16 different and varied endings effected by your choices either.  We thought that was what we would get, Bioware meant fireworks.

We will Hold the Line... that is until PAX, after PAX it's time to hit EA where it hurts... the pocketbook.

This may actually constitute "undefined terms".

But I agree with the sentiment of allowing at least until the official press conference for this to be addressed. After which point, the company has had a FULL MONTH to redress the issue. Then it is feeding frenzy time.

I agree it's false advertising, but I'll ask right up front, what are your reasons for bringing the case, are you ambulance chasing or do you genuinely have the consumers best interest at heart?

Sorry if that sounds harsh, we live in a society where it seems everyone sues everyone else, it's almost a hobby.

Lets give them a chance to fix it at least before exploring legal options. Seriously, It's a video game. Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed as everyone else is about the steaming pile of ending we got, but this is a serious extreme.

I sure as hell wont until after PAX but if not then Yeah i WILL do it, regardless of what it is its a product that they sold to people, (millions) and it was falsley advertised, nontheless they still get a chance from me because i still hope the company i used to love is still there somewhere.

Probably not a good idea, I think. I'm not a lawyer by any means, but I would think that a law suit against BioWare would either fail or just get bogged down in paper work and lawyers. Even if it did make it to court these things get dragged out over really long periods. I wouldn't be surprised if it would be a year or more before anything developed from it.

Secondly, I just don't think it's a good idea. If you are upset about the ending of ME 3 then the best way is to just avoid future BioWare products. Going to court I think is just going to give people a worse impression of those of us who aren't satisfied with the current ending. Keep in mind many people on the outside already don't think very highly of Retake ME.

So, basically I think it's a bad idea because it will probably not succeed, it will make the Retake look bad, and It will just alienate BioWare from it's fans even more.

I would disgree in that no matter what happen in PAX, it will never change the fact that the ...well...um.... crime ? was already being done.

This. Yes, you can sue. You have that right. You guys won't win with this lolargument. Mass Effect 3 has an ending. It's not an ending you like. It's a ****ty ending, but it has an ending. There is no legal grounds in which you would win this case, and you'd be lucky if you make it out without the judge throwing insults your way.

And should you not utterly get torn apart in court by high powered and (smarter) lawyers and manage to win. What damages will you be seeking?

What an enlightened response, ALL IN CAPS TOO.  Again it all depends on who's actually sueing, what their grievances are and what evidence they can present. Expensive lawyers are good, but even the best have to struggle when confronted with evidence that proves the guilt of the defendant.

Still, I find it highly doubtful that anyone will sue in the future and I'd rather it did not come to that. I'd much rather that BW takes this chance to redeem themselves, the'yve got another good...oh 2 days before the fun begins.

Ehm, it's a case of false advertising about the game, not a case of "my game ending sucks, give me a new one". I find the case to be unlikely to get anywhere in court but there it is...

Precisely, to quote Jack from ME3:

***Note: I agree that no legal action should be taken until after BioWare's "April Announcement" which may or may not take place at PAX. That being said, if BioWare's "April Announcement" is the Retake Omega DLC and NO MENTION of "Fixing" the "On Disc" ending to Mass Effect 3, that will the time when Mass Effect fans need to get serious. The only problem I forsee is the money it would take to hire lawyers to fight EA's lawyers. We have a case, a real one, be getting it in front of the Judge is a challenge, once that's done, the Judge would say in the Turian Councilor's voice from ME1 when being presented with Saren's audio tape, "This evidence is irrefutable"

First of all, I love BioWare (DA:O/SWTOR/ME1&2/SWKoTOR), but clearly with the Game Informer magazine issue 217, May 2011 and all that was stated in it, the literally Color Coded, A, B, C endings in the game files and the complete 180 from what we were told and what was promised, the Federal Trade Commission should at the VERY LEAST, know (from the tens of thousands of us) that BioWare used False Advertising to sell a product.

I'd be willing to represent the Fans of Mass Effect in front of a Federal Judge, here, (some) of my evidence:

http://en.wikipedia....lse_advertising

http://social.biowar...ndex/10927975/1

http://i41.tinypic.com/2edp2xc.png

All the news articles, forum posts, all the Fan's of Mass Effect and their opinion.

*Note: This thread was written in about 5 minutes, it does not reflect the case file I would bring to court, not by long shot, it does however state the thesis and topic of the court case that could be held.

Agreed?

Omg I'm lol'ing. We're talking a real federal court of law right? Not like Judge Judy hosted by G4? You can claim false advertising left and right, that doesn't make it true. For a video game you would need something blatant like Namco releasing Soul Calibur 6 and then when you buy it and put it in, it's actually like Forza 4.

You know what this thread makes me angry. Like really mad.

I hate lawyers, I hate people who think they can sue. OP im beginning to hate you. return you game. burn it. or do whatever you want with it. boycott them, spread hate and lies about them, whatever.

but if you go to court against my favorite game company over this bs arguement. i dont care how mad i might be at them right now. I will put up my wallets worth of cash (as if they need it)for their lawyers (as if they need them) to make you pay. so there. bite me.

You sir, need to take a chill pill. To quote the Joker from Batman: Why so serious?

It is unlikely this would get anywhere and if it does, it's a bloody shame, but it's no reason to get worked up over it. Here, take an A/B/C cupcake
