i... understand... the theory behind this idea. i even believe i was lied to.
DeeLite808 - i did not build expectations for myself. in numerous posts, interviews and videos, the same information and promises were made. i EXPECTED them to follow through on a least some of them.
i recognize that none of that information is legally binding.

however, that being said, i do not believe suing BioWare, EA or any combination of employees, writers, CEO's or representives of those companies will be of any benefit to the players or the video-gaming community in general. even IF you are successful, all you have done is dragged out what could have been finished in 4 weeks for 4 years (or longer).

like i said - i understand the anger and the knee-jerk reaction.

i can't justify supporting it in any way.

Oh and everyone, DeeLite808 is my tag-team partner for this thread.

*Tags out.*

Sorry..may bow out soon myself (dang auto-correct)

Take it from someone who has lawyers as relatives (one actually is a lawyer for an advertising company):

There is no case since there has been no false advertising.

I agree and would be willing to add my name to a class-action suit against EA/Bioware for such a blatant violation of law.

For those saying wait two days, legally speaking, making up later does not forgive a criminal act.

It's a criminal act? What? Do you know how silly it sounds.

And those who can't chill about lying, just move on.
Yes, lying is bad, but not worth the effort to start a law sue for something so insignificant.

Just move on and forget about it. Forget about BioWare. You want to hurt them? Fine, don't buy their products, but don't sue the company who made some of the best games in the last decade. You should rather sue EA for making good companies be destroyed like this, but that would be an uphill battle. The best you can do is just move on with your life and stop buying BioWare/EA products.

For all I care, you're jsut displeased about the ending and want to sue BioWare for this. Have you thought about it?

I say this could be Judge Wapner's comeback case to daytime TV. Man, that would be cool.

I've just felt a short chill while reading this thread. I think that was the feeling of a mod hovering by, considering locking the thread, then deciding it wasn't even worth that much effort.

All you have is that you as a consumer hate a game, because it didn't GIVE what YOU THOUGHT or ASSUMED it would give, based on expectations you built for yourself.

Hahahaha, you're silly, because no one bought the game based on what Casey Hudson said ( or advertised) would be in the game.

That would just be absurd.

oy vey, tv judges are at most RETIRED Civil Court Judges, or worked in CIVIL Court as their last "jobs" (they may have sat on the State Supreme or Superior Courts, but most judge are CIVIL court judges)

Their decisions carry no more weight than someone suing their neighbor because their tree had a branch fall on your car in your drive way and trying to get damages paid. They would not take cases on "false advertising"

I certainly didn't. I bought it based on what I did in ME2. I kept myself in the dark about ALL ME3 news (I avoided trailers, advertising, interviews etc). I did that for ME2 as well, and for ME1, i didn't know a thing about that game, until I walked into a GameStop and saw a new game from BioWare (the last title of theirs that I played being Jade Empire), and thought based ONLY ON THE COVER, this looks like a cool game.

In fact Jade Empire was the first BioWare game I played. I never played any of the Star Wars titles (I wasn't into Star Wars video games because I only treated the first three films as canon).

I'm going to say this. You want to sue a company, you'd better make sure the dollar amount is worth it because a corporation will do one thing. They will drag it out and drag it out for years, decades if necessary. Do you realize the victims of the Exxon Valdez spill still have not been paid because Exxon has kept delaying?

This game issue falls under what I call "first world problems".

For small dollar amounts like $60 to $80 if there is no satisfaction there is small claims court. It costs $15 to $25 to file. No attorneys. Chances are you'll have better luck dealing directly with the vendor from where you bought the product.

And FYI class action suits were recently made more difficult to file by the SCOTUS in a series of decisions, and they take years to resolve.

As far as I am concerned an international corporation EA/BioWare knowingly lied to me when advertising their product. Why should this billion dollar business get away with it.

I'm not in agreement with bringing legal action, but this mentality of "just a video game" needs to change, it is a product purchased by consumers and as such should be treated as any other consumer product.

While that's all well and good, there are more people in the world than just you, and some felt compelled to buy the game.....based on dev promises and press releases.

funny, because they said that this was the third in the series (not a lie)
that you will make important decisiosn (not a lie)
that you will be treated to several endings based on those decsions (not a lie)

Sorry, but please point out a specific statement where they knowingly lied.

Well there is the whole "We won't pull a lost" and the " The endings can't be as simple as A B or C" thing.

Eh,details I guess.

Hate the ending, want it fixed, but not willing to play anything created by legal compulsion. Don't want to see this happen.
