Easiest way in my opinion, I play on insanity btw
class: Soldier
Weapons: Black Widow and Valkyrie (V or X depending on playthrough)
Have squaddies take cover behind benches before opening the door, I take Garrus and Liara just to hear the Jack and Garrus banter.
Black Widow takes out the two Guardians, Overload+Warp+last shot on Black Widow to take out Centurion
reload, move out, turn right, rush to higher ground, two more Guardians if you are quick, if you are slow an engineer would be there laying a turret as well.If is only two guardians, again, two shots from black widow, if the turret is there too, overload+warp+couple grenades, or if you wanna take it slow, take cover and use your guns.
Once you are on high ground shield generator is gonna help you out a lot.
I love the Grissom Academy mission :) Jack + Kahlee = awesome

I couldn't drop the Atlas quickly as a Vanguard, so I took the high ground. Enemies will occasionally spawn on top of you, but that shouldn't ever really be a problem for a Vanguard to deal with.

I finally played through the last part without using the atlas on insanity....wasn't really much tougher than the atrium fight TBH. I was a little disappointed. we need a Nightmare+ type mod for this game.

There is such a MOD and tis call Spectre Difficulty. Find insanity too easy, try Spectre Difficulty! :wizard:

It is really fun.

THANKS! I found that even with an engineer, insanity is too easy now after you know the map, the spawns, and how to maximize damage dealing. kudos for the heads up.

You don't have to take out the Atlas first, in fact many times I take it out after I have cleared the first section.

If you move up the ramp to the right then the Atlas is effectively neutralized because it cannot shoot you. Keep in mind that the units at the top of the ramp are protected by a shield generator and that you need to deal with that. The only other trick is not forgetting that Guardians will come out of the door up there. When you have taken the high spot, target shield generators on the ground, then the enemies. After they are gone you can move down and destroy the Atlas if you hadn't already.

In the second area the goal is to get to the high ground again. Take out a couple enemies (I recommend engineers in the back if you can) then move to the stairs that are to the left of where you enter the area (basically along the wall that divides the atrium into the first and second half). Be cognizant of grenades, engineers, and turrets and you are set. You will probably have to take out a couple guardians as you reach the stairs, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

That's about it, if you pay attention to grenades and if your squad doesn't get stuck behind the doors leading into the fight you should be fine (have had this happen several times where I am in the atrium by myself).

Garrus plus somebody works well here (or anywhere really). Garrus and Liara are a good combo, or Garrus and EDI for dual overload. Garrus and Javik works fine too.

Vanguard strat. Charge > nova > charge > nova, even Atlas. not trolling, both areas can be cleared in 2-4 mins. Easy game + broken class ( sadly ; ; ) = no need squadmates, just pick em for dialog choices.

Man I hate this part of the game. I get flanked like crazy. It seems like wherever I run there something is. Between the mech, the guys with the shields and the turrets it's a nightmare sometimes.

Wow didn't even know there was a thread for this. I did this fight from a Sentinel POV. Pretty much same strat the OP mentions. I'm gonna do it tommorow on the Spectre difficulty for a comparison.

Barrier Sentinel - Grissom Academy

Nice Image IPB

I'll add it to the OP when I get home. Your video is also a demonstration why the Adept is nothing more than a gimped version of the Sentinel, but that's something for another thread. The only possitive thing is that Barrier looks better on an Adept than a Sentinel with Tech Armor ;)

Yeah. No reason to play an Adept other than RP reason IMO. At least the Soldier gets Inferno Ammo over the Infiltrator to not be completly outclassed.

I quit using the Infiltrator as it is almost invincible if you use it right. I have made it through an insanity playthrough without dying once using an infiltrator. The other classes I will usually die a couple of times if I get flanked hard or overwhelmed. my infiltrators just go stealth and go to the other side of map....also can stealth revive squadmates for canon fodder while I HS all the baddies.
