Oh I expect some DLC, as stated they have probably already got some in Gold. But the overall 1 to 2 year plan for DLC (like DA:O and Me2) could be seriously knocked off course, as per DA2.

What's the point in retaking Palaven?  Won't the rEApers just lug the citadel over there and start this cycle (oh the corollaries) over again dooming the galaxy to once more be exploded by prettyful colors?

How about a Dallas style "I woke up in the shower and it was all a dream" DLC
could fix the ending.

You mean like, "Shepard wakes up on the Normandy SR1 after Eden Prime and it was all a dream"?

I know its hard to believe, but the forums are not really all that representative of the larger game market. The vast majority of people who bought the game don't come here and aren't subjected to the daily calls for anger and regret.

There will be DLC and Bioware will sell a lot of it.

A Bethesda developer said, I think it was last year, that Oblivion Horse Armor still sells. So yes there's always someone buying.

Of course there will be.

This is EA we're talking about.

The question isn't whether or not there will be DLC, but how badly sales of it will be impacted by the fact that customers are ticked off and EA is ignoring their concerns.

I would like more DLC. I would LOVE a new ending but it doesn't stop me from loving the game until the last 5 minutes.

Some good ideas have been tossed around, retake Palaven, retake Omega and some other things are all good ideas and I'm already waiting with my 'Main' Shepard to replay the game with all the DLC.

In the mean time I'll just be replaying through the whole series using different classes and making different decisions.

I don't know anything about the fate of that DA2 expansion and the causes to its demise, but on important factor, that somebody pointed out, is that while expansive content is desireable in every way; publishers will always want to be expedient with their DLC, because projected sales go down every day that passes, after the customer base largely finish the main game.
People will move on to other games and delete old ones, to make room on their harddisks and we soon lose our connection (...or: "attendant immersion", or whatever you might call it...) with the game world, which it may take some estranged bit of settling back into.
Raise a hand everybody who has ever jumped into a story add-on for a game and gone: "Hmm, who is that guy again?" :7

No, the game would still end on Earth. How big do you think a DLC is? Not big enough to re-do the art for the whole ending.

That's all that Indoctrination Theory ever was, so it's not impossible.

Actually I think that might be a worse ending, as it is the whole thing feels out of place or just very rushed/badley done.

The last message on the screen was "BUY MOAR DLC." I wouldn't be surprised if the schedule is dialled back a bit, but removed entirely? I doubt it. Especially if it's a bunch of MP maps and weapon packs.

Well now that they have announced the extended cut and that it wont be available until "the summer" and that there reprioritising DLC. I guess all the flak caused by the naff ending has had an impact on DLC and looks like it will continue to do so.

For me I will be waiting for the "summer" release just to see what it gives. Until then I'll not be buying any other ME dlc that may come out. And I've also finished all the game playing for now too.

Hopefully come the summer dlc I can get back to me if not then it will be on ebay.

Seriously.

If the ending to ME3 is not fixed, which a few posts have suggested from comments made on twitter and by EA. Then what is the point of releasing any ME3 DLC?

BW have already stated that any DLC would be pre game ending.

With such a bad ending, bad feeling within the community the whole "whats the point in doing a 2nd playthrough" feeling. The financial benefits of any DLC are in my opinion not worth it for BW & EA.

Therefore I see a similar situation as with DA2 but worse and BW / EA just cancelling or not bothering with any ME3 DLC (unless its already been done) and moving on to the next project.

Your (civil) thoughts please....

A good question Op. As I see it, it depends on how you look at it.

From a Bioware/Mass Effect fan point of view, wher you're focused on the story and the character development you are asolutely right. There is not really any point in launching any DLC not already mostly finished, ie. the apparantly upcoming Retake Omega DLC.

From a shooter fan point for view with a wish to see more of the universe there is a lot of good business to be had by Bioware in developing Multiplayer DLC. Providing more multiplayer DLC would provide Bioware with some good intel on whether a purely shooter based ME4 or even shooter MMO set in the ME universe is viable.

Personally I think the age of focus on the story and character development is over and done with from Bioware, at least in the Mass Effect series. From a purely corporate mindset I would look toward straightup shooter including PvP since this is where most games go nowadays (unfortunately), and then possibly a MMO. A MMO is however a huge investment and Bioware hasn't really got a great trackrecord with this, so I would imagine a focus on PvP based shooter set in the ME universe. Personally as a gamer I would hate this, as so few game producers focus on story anymore, but sadly it is the way of the reality TV show world we live in, so short attention spans and easy access games are what sells.

At first I also disliked the ending. As a matter of fact, I still do.
But that's not going to prevent me from enjoying what leads up to the end. My second biggest complaint after the ending is the games length. So yes, PLEASE give me more missions, more character dialogue etc.

Don't know if they will be releasing Mass Effect 3 DLC or not but I doubt it as many fans that BioWare have just upset with the announcement that there will be no changes to the Crap that is Mass Effect 3 ending. Only one ending only one choice where nothing matters.

I know I will not be buying anything else from BioWare until I have rented and beat the game first and even then I dont know if I will.

The way things stand at the moment I really can't see the point of any pre-ending DLC.

Seeing how well Retake Earth went what would be the point of retaking Omega, Palaven or anywhere else?

Again I agree with OP we all know that your was assets don't make a difference so why add extra misions so who cares if we take back palaven or omega the ending will still be the same so yea no DLC for me sorry bioware but you will not be seeing anything out of me.
