Just throwing this out there.  What do you guys think?  I can sort of, kind of understand how the devs might not have seen just how terrible those last 5-10 minutes were; when you work on something long enough, it's hard to get a sense of what it really is like.  I'm wondering if now, after there's been some time, they've gone back to see just what it is so many of us are raging about.  And, I'm wondering (maybe hoping, really) if they see what we're seeing, a plothole ridden funnel into a single path of nonsense.  I'm wondering if they've gone back and actually seen that those last few minutes really do invalidate everything that made the series great, namely player agency in the story.

It's probably the optimist in me but I want to believe they understand why the ending was met with the furor that it did and not that they're simply throwing us a bone to protect their bottom line.

I can understand the devs having a blind spot towards the ending - anyone who has worked in an office will know how difficult it can be to constructively criticise a decision that has come down from "on high, whilst seen to be remaining "on-message".

What I find difficult to understand.is how come the BETA testers did not realise how appalling the ending is, and if they did, why did not Bioware take notice of them?
