Can you explain this in more detail? When are you turning the tracking option off and on again?

I just meant in the options, the online feedback thing. Turned it off, quit the menu, then went back in and turned it on again, and the glitch stopped working for me.

it is bug abusing and should (and hopefully will) be punished. and don't get me wrong if someone got two by accident this shouldn't be punished. but if i see people with n7 weapons x now, i will report them =D

Will it make the duplicate I already have in the store go away? I was under false impressions on the second I opened, but I certainly don't want to abuse this.

I don't think the duplicate will go away and I can't 100% guarantee that the glitch will stop working. I actually went into SP and MP with the online tracking off before turning it on again, didn't play either but maybe it also played a part.

As for bans... I wouldn't hold my breath, seeing as those who abuse the credits glitch are still playing happily with their bazillion credits.

that's always hard to figure out. unless you know some or many people who abused this (or abused it yourself) it is hard to find out how hard bioware punishes them. (talking about the credit glitch here)

Yeah. Based on what someone said on this forum I figured out how I got more than one com pack, so I tried it again and it gave me another. That said I'm not going to do it again, I'm not a fan of glitching.

Alright, well, I've done as recommended for 'deactivating' the glitch. I've also essentially stopped it by not opening any more packs. (They would just continue to appear in the store. I didn't see two in the store at any one time).

For now, I will sit and wait to here the verdict. And hope.

Like I said in a post earlier, I'll happily give back the ill-gotten item. (Though I'd prefer they take the Eagle from the first instead of the Valiant II from the second . But thats just a bad-timed joke. xD)

would be intereisting what these packs will give you if you have all 4 n7 weapons to X, but of course i won't test that =D

That is a curious question. Especially since the trigger, whatever it may be, isn't very elaborate. It isn't like you clap your hands three times and go buy ruby red slippers to make this work. It just... happens after what should be just some regular playing.

As for someone theorizing about opening one after having all at X would make me think that slot would just be replaced by equipment, as the code is probably programmed that only the N7s are possible weapons, and just like when you max a regular weapon and stop receiving it, you'd stop receiving all four.

This also leads to the math that after 40 of these packs, everyone will have all the weapons at X.

This giltch will be harder to punish because no credits are spent, no files are edited. The duplicates will go away on APRIL 10th 5pm PST, you don't need to contact EA support or do anything. Just ignore the victory and commendation pack DO NOT REDEEM THEM if you already have (I know its tempting for those that have the crappy eagle and hurricane, but its not worth getting your multiplayer account wiped).

Also to confirm you qualify for the packs just go here. http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php you should see this.

I do indeed qualify for at least the one.

I'd also forgotten about the expiration dates! Thats good news! I can just wait on that now!

I PM'ed Chris about this glitch last night, not wanting people to abuse this glitch cuz you know people will discretely.

Though I did accept 1 extra commendation pack to make sure it wasn't just a ghost duplicate, but I got 2 different n7 guns last night.

The problem with this glitch is it's going to happen naturally. Hopefully Bioware get it fixed quickly. I'm guessing this could be the reason many haven't recieved their commendation packs yet.

Same happened to me. I opened both of them unaware that it would actually give me different contents to my first two packs. Like someone else said, I hope no severe punishments will be given out to anyone who has opened the glitched ones.

Aye, thats the biggest problem (okay, maybe second to people purposefully abusing it and getting all four to X) is that its not like you have to go all Matrix-mode and be some super hacker to do this. You don't even have to do anything weird, or slightly different for gameplay. Completely normal gameplay, (albeit with some conditions that I won't detail) can cause this.

I agree. I haven't opened mine yet, but there really ought to be an incentive to promote more. And to think of others getting multiple commendation packs after I promoted 6 times is... well, it's a sour sort of feeling. 

Man, I know I'm getting either an Eagle or a Hurricane--I can feel it coming, which is why I haven't even opened the game today--and I don't want either. There has to be a better way to do this. At least make the Eagle and Hurricane good enough to use (and not just on Bronze by people who like to brag that they can make anything work and everyone else just sucks. "Cool people aim from the hip! You just don't know how to not hold down your right mouse button, that's why YOU don't like it!")

Looks like they suspended pack grants and are calling it an exploit. Lets hope those of us who have been honest, clear, and accidental about what happened don't get in trouble.

While I'm sure there are cheaters out there and your blame is well-spent on them, quite a few of us just wandered into it. It literally does not require any thing that one might call 'hacking'. Its really a programming oops on their end.

I would think this would be a little embarrassing for them. Obviously if someone cheats (credits, insta-kills, the typical stuff) then its all on the cheater. This particular instance though... kind of a programming 'oops' on their part. Obviously people who repeat this 40 times... then its on them again. But for the two or three times it happened to some of us, I can't imagine they'd hold us guilty. Unless they just do a wide-net guilt toss (being able to see in feedback that you've opened more than one lately and using that 'feedback flag' to activate a wide-ban).
