(oh damn i pressed enter once i wrote the thread title rofl)

-So I respec'd a human adept and i've maxed shockwave (w lift) and warp already. I went into a bronze match and died like 7 times. I thought it'd be interesting since you can detonate both ways (warp--shockwave and viceversa) but I think i'm missing something. Is there even a point to shockwave given the low range (i picked detonation bonus for both powers)? Is there any other biotic class this'd work better along with?

I don't like singularity much, it doesnt even have a detonation bonus thing. I thought it'd be neat to try something without it but yeah it looks really bad when i'm there with a katana trying to get into shockwave range.
I won't apologize for the fail thread though.

It would work if shockwave didn't suck so bad and wasn't giltchy and shake the screen of nearby friendlies. Singularity is acutally very good against geth and cerberus when someone in your team has overload.

I think they should give slam to the human adept and take out shockwave. Your better of playing sentinal. With the recent tech armour buff the human sentinal is pretty respectable adept.

That would be actually a great build had Shockwave worked as in ME2 instead of being the half-assed power as it is now. I find Singularity underwhelming, oh it's great for troopers and cannibals but if there are none in sight, it's completely useless, you can't detonate anything.

Shockwave on the other hand would be a decent detonator, a great CC tool and an excellent panic button. But it's underpowered AND reportedly buggy as hell.

Shockwave didn't do anything to protected targets, except make them laugh at you in ME2

HA is the most useless class IMHO. Singularity is about the most underwhelming signature skill I can think of and Shockwave is broken. Warp is nice obviously. If you only had a way detonate it over a distance.
Advice: Go Sentinel until you unlock DA or AA.

I played ME2 years ago but I'm pretty sure Shockwave used to strip shields big time and did knock over even armored Krogan.

Shockwave has a lot of issues, but it also has penetration. You can easily stagger enemies behind cover or the corner of walls.

shockwave is a broken skill.

if you want to play human adept you have to play as the host, otherwise shockwave will break at some stage in the game and effectively turns into a harmless fart that would fail to 'shock' a small insect.

it's pretty good when it works, because it can go through walls. just find a position where the enemies come to you, instead of trying to snipe from a mile away where your only effective skill is warp.

singularity is the most underrated skill in the game. it stuns shielded enemies like stasis and has a greatly superior recharge speed of 1.5 seconds. the disadvantage vs stasis is that singularity does not 'trap' nemesis or phantoms - phantoms are the biggest threat vs gold cerberus so this is kinda the reason why human adept is inferior to stasis bubble adept.

human adept is potentially the most fun class to play because you cause enemies to float all over the place... your shockwave lift and singularity causes enemies to float off, you can play 'keepy uppies' with them.  it's the most satisfying thing in the game to cause an enemy to float and then hit him mid-air with a heavy melee.

unfortunately it's unplayable unless you're the host because shockwave is your bread and butter, and it's fubar.

But... it DOES have a detonation upgrade. Wha...?

I treat the Human Adept as a close range force wielder basically. Gaurdians? Shockwave.Bye bye shieds, then shoot in the face. Regular troops? Singularity then warp. Boom biotic explosion, bye bye everyone. Shockwave is also a powerful biotic triggerer. If you warp something and then set it off with a shockwave, you can get a massive biotic explosion. Its also GREAT for a group of enemies heading toward you. It will throw back or stagger just about all of them. It will stagger even if they're shielded. So its just a great crowd control power. Just remember, the adept is meant for short range fighting because of the shockwave. So I usually rock a light or medium weight shotgun or smg, something that won't bring your CD down too much. Do that, and use biotics constantly, as well as your awesome biotic push heavy melee, and you will be a force to be reckoned with.

I have my Human Adept at lvl 3 Singularity and am missing lvl 6 of the AT (all else is at lvlv 6). I use Singularity as a Pull on unprotected targets. For protected - it's Warp + Shockwave. I have specced shockwave for range (loosing a bit of detonation radius/damage) because I find it improves survivability. Also, don't spec for width, otherwise you'll miss 75% of the time. It'll still miss on occasion, but only rarely.

I find this build better for higher difficulties, as opposed to having lvl 6 Singularity. You just have to learn to play closer to the enemy. I do very well with it on silver. I have tried it on gold a couple of times, but I have the asari adept and it is superior, so...

Tip: try to always be around the corner or in cover. Shockwave travels through anything, so abuse it.

I did a shockwave Adept and found it very unsatisfying. I had to use shockwave excessively and many enemies would just jump out of the way. The most powerful incarnation of HA is specced without a single point in shockwave and all the other skills maxed out.

I respectfully disagree. You are obviously not using it very well. Get closer. Its not a long range power. I use it all the time and it beasts against groups. If they dodge, just hit them with it again. Or upgrade it to the extra radius. It is by no means useless. Just learn how to use it.

Yes, I meant a biotic combo damage bonus.
So, if I host, there are no broken things/technical difficulties at all with shockwave?

Thanks all for the tipz, didn't know it'd penetrate.

Sadly even being the host doesn't help much(shockwave still stops working around wave 5 for me)
The CQC adept with no sinqularity and a shotgun, would be great fun to play if it wasn't for that bug making you useless midway of the game.

I've never had many problems with shockwave. Though I usually host. I have a pretty good connection, so there's never too much lag. Hardly any usually. So you could try that. I've never had really any difficulties with it in other lobbies though either.

Shockwave penetrates obstacles. ANY obstacles. That plated glass in the Cerberus Lab on Sanctum? Not a problem for my shockwave! Makes useful for last-second rescues for if you can't make it in time to save your teammates from imminent destruction.

It's also very good at clearing out husks, swarmers, neutering Cannibals and activating biotic combos if your intended target is crowded up. It's the number two reason my Adept consistently gets gold medals (the number one being that ever since the original Halo I have learned to respect and rely on pistol sniping).
