The neck animations were not nearly as horrifying in Mass Effect 2 as they are in Mass Effect 3. Hello Traynor did I get any new emails OH MY GOD.

ME3 you are forced into suicide, disregarding all choices and war assets.

1) choices are reflected
2) you take important decisions
3) there's an awesome (yet abandonned?!?) squad assignments mechanic
4) a shocking yet coherent ending
5) mind-blowing music (we miss you Jack Wall!)
6) closure
7) a freakin' sense of epicness from the Omega-4 relay to the very last scene
It had it all. I have no idea why the wriers didn't go with this winning formula.

Also, a satisfying ending.

and come on, the human reaper? Are people seriously forgetting how f***ing lame that was? I guess everything looks sunnier on the other side.
As a boss fight, it was beyond stupid. As a plot twist, I thought it fit into the context of the narrative, given Saren's speech regarding the union of synthetics and organics, the codex entry regarding Dragon's Teeth and Husks, and the nature of the Collectors and the Keepers.

Anyway, for me ME2 is better because the final mission properly reflects what you have been doing the whole game, which is gathering elite squad, convincing them, ugrading ship....everything mattered in the final mission, even decisions on that mission mattered. Though I don't agree with the fact that Zaeed can't be the squad leader.
In all honesty, I expected the same in ME3, but upscaled.

I think ME2 had more of everything, except skills and weapon/armour upgrades.
The last level of ME2 is one of the best ever in a game.Watching how all those upgrades protected the ship (made scanning worthwile) choosing who to risk on sub missions and etc.
The only letdown was the T-800 end boss. But even that sort of made sense, Human Reaper - Human shape.
I agree. Would have been awesome if we had the same effect but on a larger scale for the ending of ME3. Would be awesome to see what would happen if you saved the Rachni if you would send in them or the Krogan for a on foot/vehicle confrontation while in the air choose either the Quarians or Geth for air engagments...while either the Asari or Salarians were sent in for covert missions and having either Alliance or Turians taking the brunt of the attack.

Or bypassing and hacking things. YES I ACTUALLY LIKED THOSE! Made it feel like you didn't have an omni-tool win button for slicing doors/safes/other things.
Also squadmate interaction dialogue. Garrus, you can tell me you're in the middle of some calibrations as much as you want, I'll still smile every time you say it.
The squad also felt like a tight-knit team where you got to see more of why they are who they are with their loyalty missions and such.
...So many things.
