Quarian Engineer - worst character for fighting Geth

So you do not play gold, and you do not combo ice and fire, yet you talking about 'thinking' with the QE?  Are you trolling by chance?

You're crazy, I spam cryo like no tomorow.  :blink:

It's a huge damage boost with the debuff up, and the cooldown is so short.  Incredibly effective against anything--freezes unproteced minor enemies and debuffs everything.  Any regular enemies that have shields just take a couple seconds with a weapon and disruptor rounds.  It's only when things like 3 hunters show up at once that it all goes to hell if your team isn't helping.

At the very least cryo will stagger things with shileds unless they are the larger types, which gives you time to take down the shields.

Helps when my turret has cryo, shock and rockets. Plus, I can fire a mattock faster than any consol user that has a stock controller. Primes? Atlas? Brute? Let me at it. A lot of it is ammo selection.

Turret has a mind of it's own, and doesn't have as nearly a strong cryo as the one you can max out yourself, and do more controlled explosions with.

Pray tell, what ammo do you use to make up for lack of a controlled cryo?

Preach it, slow+stagger even on things with shields as well as the damage debuff.

Honestly, weakest against geth might be drell adept. Can't really detonate until shields are off - same issue as QE. However, getting the shields off requires shooting. QE at least have incinerate. Both have an effective cc ability once the shields are down - it's just the detonation that does massive damage. Sadly, reave doesn't get the benefit of damage reduction. I feel completely crippled when playing a drell against geth. I feel slightly more useful as a QE. The flamethrower turret isn't bad at all. Especially since they upgraded the shields.

Place your turret where they get no long line to attack it from and not worry about setting up explosions. Mobs can't resist attacking it while you pound on them. At close range even Primes tend to hug up to it and miss a lot. That little floating toy is like chaff from a fighter jet. The cool down is fast so you just keep lobbing them to the back of choke points and use cover to reduce your own agro. It also helps set them up for other players that love to bowl in like a hungry Krogan chasing a Vortcha.
If I wanted to make a cryo bomber I'd use the grenade launcher with cryo ammo and host my own matches. As I have her is about survivability. She's not very good at supporting my team laying on the floor. *My suit!*

Reave still eats shields so it comes in handy. I think the biggest problem with QE's is most people don't know about tech bursts.

i love the qe but its the only class i havent gotten yet. great against cerberus since thats all there was in the demo thats the only thing i can confirm. cryo explosions go crazy. but it would have made more sense for them to have the powers that human engineers have as opposed to the powers they do have.

They only need to re-evaluate Rank 4 for Cyro, then QE would be awesome.

Ideally we should be able to take both duration buff and AOE, so we can have 2-3 AOE incinerates within one AOE cyro duration for strong group damage.

I just played QE on gold..unimpressive. She's not bad on bronze - they have low health. But cryo/incinerate is weak as hell. The damage increase of incinerate against cryo'd enemies should be 150% or higher. Especially if they can't disable shields.

I used to really enjoy playing Quarian Engineer in beta, and I unlocked it not long ago but as much as I would like to I don't use it. Its too squishy for the lack of damage it does.
Although, that might be me getting spoiled by the N7 Crusader, that thing eats armored targets for breakfast.

cryo for damage debuffs, fire increased frost damage, turret
for shields/cryo/flamethrower. If you keep cooldowns at 200%,
and get good at throwing it accurately, it's a huge benefit against
any enemy.

No buffs needed. It works just fine, and is awesome if you have
someone else to strip shields. Even without a shield stripper,
it works great. If they're buffed to become flavor of the month,
then everyone will play them, less skill required.

Yes,  you can strip shields yourself.  With a good carni, or add an
appropriate ammo power.  But with say, a human overload/fire spammer,
or turien to strip, you can chain cryo/fire explosion stuff so fast there is
hardly any time to fire your quarians weapon (assuming your other
2 partners are weapon based classes).

Regardless, shield stripper partner or not,  Quarian engineers are
great.

Hmm i find QE quite ok against any enemy really, ice/incinerate explosions work quite nicely.

Takes some timing but it get's the job done, i do use a sniper rifle on my QE but hell :P
