Gold is about having a plan and sticking to it, hunkering down and holding the line. In other words, it's kind of boring unless you are into slow and methodical victories. I personally feel I have a good time on silver and make less credits. Since having fun is the most important thing.  You can buy packs till kingdom come and you might not get what you want, best to just have a fun time and let the packs fall where they will. 

uh, the ultralight does work actually... ah, Everyone should have a little status bar tht shows what system they use. I didn't know it didn't work on pc. it works on PS3. It's confusing reading these threads when everyone plays different platforms which have various issues associated.

No it doesn't. Equip an SMG that lowers cooldown without ultralite. Go to an ability, check the cooldown time. Go back to your weapons, equip ultralite, ignore what it says on the weapons bar. Go check your ability again. Same cooldown, this is reflected in game.

22,5% encumbrance, about 3 or 4 spare shots and about 46.17 damage for each shot.
It's not a big difference but it's waaaay too easy to acquire Mantis X to neglect these bonuses.

Seriously man? Are you trying to offend me or something? XD because you won't, a lot of people thinks the same way as I do. I'm not a new player, and definetly, I won't stop playing gold just because some people think I'm not good enough for it.

It seems nobody (or only a few) got the point of this, I wasn't asking literally for an explanation. I know the reason, the reason is you think I'm not good enough. Well, the fact is I am, I have already won a few games in gold (with the same infiltrator in level 12 BTW) I'm not asking for advice, because this isn't the kind of thing I ask for advice. I only came here just to tell you not to kick people just because you are a level 20 infiltrator with a Widow X and I am a level 16 with a Mantis VII. It's stupid, pointless and destroys the ambience of the multiplayer.

I have beaten gold with 3 players only, and I have beaten bronze solo.

My point is... being a part of a gold game that has been won, doesn't mean in any way that you were responsible for winning it. Whatsoever it could have been that your team has won it despite you being there...

Now quit whining. Either follow the suggestions people have given you and accept that people have valid reasons to think that you might not be as valuable to them as the next guy will be. Or just QQ and get the **** out of this forum.


P.S. Did you know that armored enemies have dmg resistance based on armor? And if I am not mistaken it is 50% dmg resistance on gold?
Now did you know that you need armor piercing to ignore it?
And that Widow actually has armor piercing capabilities and mantis does not?

Now taking into account that you don't have neither armor piercing wepon, nor armor piercing mod, nor armor piercing bullets. This makes you especially useless against prime targets. Additionally given the fact that your weight (because of your wepon choice) is horrible, you would also be unable to constantly fire from cloak -> even less useful.

Conclusion. Any party that already has any kind of an infiltrator DOES NOT NEED YOU WITH THIS SETUP! Either switch class to something useful, or look for another lobby and quit before you get kicked.

^You don't need Armor Piercing weapons to deal with armored enemies in Gold. If a weapon does high enough damage, the damage lost to armor is negligible.

In this case, the Mantis does okay against Armor in Gold, but there are better weapons.

Also, there are no "Armor Piercing Weapons".


Edit: Mantis only loses 8.12% - 6.49% damage against armor in gold, depeding on Mantis Level.

Why you were probably kicked:

1) You're a Human Inflitrator - the perceived weakest of the Infiltrators, (and they already have a Salarian Infiltrator that most likely has a way better gun).
2) You're not using any ammo/armor bonuses (and they can't see how many missiles/medigels you have so that doesn't come into play).
3) You're level 16.  They're level 20.  Even if you're a good player, you're lacking compared to your teammates.
4) You only have a Mantis VII - which means you probably haven't been playing Inflitrator all that long, as Mantis X (or BW/W) should be an automatic for you if you're already at N7 276 and experienced in the class.
5) You're rocking a second gun.  If you're good enough to play gold you don't need this - and it's hurting your cooldown, despite your weapon mods.
6) They might be playing a private game.

Have you ever heard of private lobby/matches? You know when you click the small arrow on where it says "PUBLIC" you can change it to private and invite just friends.

Imagine this:

You want to play gold, but only have 2 other friends online. So you create a match, invite your two friends and go public. Then a third friend wants to play. So you set your lobby to private and then kick the public person so you can invite your friend. Normally I explain what's happening using my mike, I've done it, and I've also had to leave lobbies because people have friends who want to play. It's nothing personal.

I'm confused.  Isn't that a silver game?  


And haven't most of the constructive posts been about how you can get kicked regardless of your skill level if your class and loadout suggest your aren't good?  You know, since randoms don't know you personally and have no way of guessing your effectiveness other than your class and loadout?  


I know it can be frustrating to be kicked from gold lobbies if you can handle the difficulty, but you seem to be ignoring the main issue.

I just play gold to farm credits. Geth on White map ( as long as you camp in that area easy gold win in  like 20min), I think lvl 1s can beat that.

No, sorry, I'm kidding. But eh, yeah, Mantis VII in Gold... I wouldn't kick anybody for it, but sheesh. buy a few veteran packs and get that thing to X, and you'll probably get kicked a whole lot less.

Don't sweat it. Just find another match. Play some Bronze and giggle at the newbies who die on bronze 2.

The main issue is the way people think. I doubt I'm able to change that if everybody keeps saying it's impossible to play without being at level 20 and having a Widow, wich is absolulety stupid. There's a lot of things more important that the weapon you carry.

And yes, it's a silver match and not everybody is able to survive by his own against 6 pirogeth, 2 neuro centers and a bunch of hunters in the last 40 seconds at hord 11. So scuse me, but the reasons they gave me to justify why they kick people at low levels it's just stupid, the stupidity at it's biggest, man.

Resonable scuses to kick someone: he or she is at level 1-12. Has weak level 1-3 weapon (No matter how good you are, you won't be able to compensate the lack of good equipement). or... you are waiting for a friend (damn create a private match).

The requirements people have told to justify the kicks, are just stupid, and yeah why not, I'll say it again: S T U P I D;)

Everyone has their own preferences. 16 isn't a high level considering the number of points you get in the next 4 levels.

A Mantis not at level 10 is a fairly weak weapon, especially with the mods you chose. You also had another particularly subpar weapon equipped, also with bad mods. Nor did you have equipment on your character.

They already said they kicked you to make room for a friend joining late. People can also still join for a moment after the lobby goes private.


So, you're admitting you deserved a kick while complaining about being kicked?

If you're getting kicked repeatedly, find the common denominator. (Hint: It's YOU)

The easy way to survive in such a scenario would be to huddle down and let your teammates deal with them, or die and using your medi-gel at the last moment.
