Remember that feeling you had after that game, hope, expectation, the team look like they might do it then dispapointment,? thats every game, qualifying campaign or tournament as a Scotland fan.
Remember the qualifying campaign where we somehow beat you home and away, and still managed not to qualify.
"heroic", crushing failure is our calling card.

I have a feeling that this forum--on Friday--is gonna look like everyone just saw Jesus return (i.e. they are climbing up the walls excited) or they just learned their best friend killed their family.

FFXIII-2: i never really liked the newer final fantasys since Sakaguchi left, something just doesnt feel right about them. But to have an ending in here where it says only "to be continued" and dlc coming that you have to pay for is beyond low. What can you say really... great series now at its lowest point.
MGS: Ending of MGS4 is something really stupid that I dont like, infact the whole game made little sense to me. I like the series, MGS1 and MGS3 are masterpieces, but this final part just throws everything out. Too much stupid things, animeish moments and *SPOILERS* Big Boss alive at the end of the series....How? Why?...... thats just too much. Poof goes the brain.

Just curious.
I have seen my fair share of bad endings over the years, but I have never been this upset to where I actually want them to change the endings. I'm thinking the majority of you don't typically get this upset over bad endings and like myself this is probably the first time you wanted to see something changed.
I also would like to think that if everyone knew that this is probably the only thing we have ever got worked up about, it would shed that entitled label as well.
If you have felt the sameway about something else and wanted something changed, be open about it.
Hm.... I wanted the whole LotR movies changed because they completely didn't match the atmosphere of the books, but that's another case.
Hm.... I'd like to wish The Matrix 3 away, but that's also different...
Hm.... nope.

I didn't particularly get upset as this per se, however it had the same effect on me. I no longer purchased a product from Activision or Infinity Ward from that day on and told my friends to never trust a PC game from them. Same thing will happen to Bioware.

Only thing I would remove was the Oracle + Rainbow + Seraph + Sophie bit. Otherwise the movie had significance.

Uh, yes. Human trafficing. the civilians being slaughtered in Syria, famine in Africa, sick and starving children, the list really goes on. A video game ending? LOL . No.

That was I think understood. We all get upset at some point in our life, but I believe the intent was with regards to a movie , or a book, etc.

Yeah imagine if people cared about the real worlds things like they care about this games endings. Its sad really... Theres people being brutally murdered and starving around the world right now, but no one cares. Yet a stupid video game ending sends them to a rage. What is wrong with this picture?

Well, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) a lot of those real world problems don't really effect many people directly. Makes it more difficult to have an emotional attachment and thus the passion to resolve those issues.

That Bioware... or EA, managed to destroy that in five minutes. FIVE MINUTES. That's just...
I witnessed Warcraft get lore raped, but that was a slow process.
Mass Effect... that was in no less than 5 minutes they completely ****ed such a successful universe up o.O
To be honest, I'm about as shocked as I am disappointed how they managed to do that.

Stargate Universe being cancelled just as it had found its feet.
Oh this so much. Season 1 was very crappy, but after the first few episodes of season 2, the series finally got the Stargate hang of it and it became rather gripping with lots of good plot elements... then they cancelled it. FUUUUUUUUUUU
But still not as outrageous as Mass Effect 3 ending.

But I want the Mass Effect series have a ending that it deserves, not this drivel we got that does not fit into the rest of the series.
I have not been as upsett by anything Sci Fi related since Firefly got cancelled.

As for games or products, which is what the conversation is about, then no. I have never played a game that pulled me in with such an emotional investment and connection only to have that connection severed in the last 10 minutes. I was a little disappointed with DA2 but not down right irritated enough not to play it again or consider returning it.

And some of us do care about those things and work to change those things. Why would it be mutually exclusive?

I've seen a series transform from a straightforward tale of heroism and friendship into an incoherent, convoluted mess. Final Fantasy did that.
I've seen series of books go completely off the rails while the author arrogantly scorned any criticism of the creative choices and selectively listened only to the blind praise of fanboys. The Anita Blake series and A Song of Ice and Fire did that.
I've seen games fail spectacularly to deliver on the promises of their developers. Fable and Master of Orion 3 did that.
ME3's ending, though, is like the perfect storm of all of these catastrophes.

I think there are two main differences here. This is the first one that took such an abrupt and dramatic turn. Most of the rest of the game, and the rest of the franchise, was absolutely brilliant. The ending was absolute trash. Usually a game or movie with a bad ending is the result of declining quality. KOTOR2 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines are two examples that I can think of off the top of my head that had disappointing endings, but in those cases, it was the product of an obvious rush that impacted the quality of the entire second half of those games. So by the time you got to the end, it wasn't a shock.
The second difference is that no other series has drawn me in like this. Between the writing and acting which creates these rich characters, the customization combined with the voice acting of the main character - a first for any game that I can think of, and the impact of your decisions, they've created a story that really makes it easy to insert yourself into it. You become Shepard, you care about these characters. So I'm much more passionate about this franchise than any other I can think of.
