If Shepard lost her armour would she still have her Omni-tool?

edit: did some searching, duh.. New question, how likely do you think it would be that the omni-tool still works after the harby laser beam?

There's a scene on the Normandy (so no armor) of him using the omni-tool (it's actually bugged and he walks around with it on for a while). So I guess the answer is no.

That said, why do you ask?

I would imagine the device is fairly small and always carried much like a cell phone in reality. I mean you see pretty much everybody uses them from your characters, to enemies to the merchants.(apparently if you hang around the game merchant it even plays Solitaire, Good to know people can waste the boss's time even in 22nd century..)

naturally to be fair, the Omni-Tool is the ME verse version of the tricorder so we always have one because its needed to do just about everything but shoot enemies.
