Hey guys,
Just finished the entire triology, and had time to think over the whole story. In the end, I have to say that what bioware has done with the themes and ending is nothing short of brilliant.
In an effort to avoid spoilers here, go to my blog to find an indepth answer to just why this ending is so good.

I stopped reading at 'This was a brilliant piece of storytelling'.

Same. That "brilliant piece of storytelling" is the first thing I'd remove. Yes, remove, not fix.

Everyone has an opinion. In my opinion it would have been harder to make a worse, less coherent, more obnoxious ending.
I mean, I guess if one had a major philosophical objection to all the traditions of storytelling, congruity and entertainment, one could see that as brilliant. So there is that.
Because it tossed just about all that out the window.
And was also pretty emo. As in "cuts itself to feel alive" emo.

The OP doesnt see the big lie uttered by the Catalyst which invalidates the whole ending.

TommyDogan, you've lost all credibility on anything you say in regards to Mass Effect. Next thing you'll tell us is that Vietnam was a pleasant war.... The ending was horrible, it didn't make sense, it had more loose ends that a torn rope! Granted, you're entitled to your opinion, but damn.... just damn...
