Mass Effect 2 at release: bad game.ReggarBlane wrote...
Dragon Age 2 was lackluster, but by itself, I wouldn't be compelled to avoid DA3.
Even without DA2, however (let's just say that is was DA:O only so far), I would not feel comfortable buying DA3 until months after release with rave reviews thanks to ME3.
I think ME3 has hurt initial DA3 sales. Adding DA2, I predict a dismal release (but I'm no market analyst).
Sad because ME3 isn't a bad game. The ending just overshadows it so much that I lose focus on the rest.
Will you be an early adopter to DA3?
Would you go as far as getting pre-order and/or collector editions?
Dragon Age 2 at release: bad game.
Mass Effect 3 at release: great game, lackluster ending.
Other games from EA: bad games at release, never fixed.
My answer: no more playing "at release" games from EA & any of their studios. The pre-order bonus for the collector's edition weren't worth it, by the 2nd or 3rd mission you already have better guns than what they offered.
The rest is gizmos I haven't even looked at.
I could have waited 6 months, bought the game for 40$ with at least 2-3 DLCs. But I really wanted ME3... The Lair of the Shadow broker and the other DLCs were really nice, so were the DLCs for DA2, I thought ME3 would be great, from beginning to end.
Not that I disagree entirely wiht the ending, but I felt cheated that the game is only 40hrs long (below 80hrs for an RPG, it's a very short game) and has 3 identical endings.
