Dragon Age 2 was lackluster, but by itself, I wouldn't be compelled to avoid DA3.

Even without DA2, however (let's just say that is was DA:O only so far), I would not feel comfortable buying DA3 until months after release with rave reviews thanks to ME3.

I think ME3 has hurt initial DA3 sales. Adding DA2, I predict a dismal release (but I'm no market analyst).

Sad because ME3 isn't a bad game. The ending just overshadows it so much that I lose focus on the rest.

Will you be an early adopter to DA3?

Would you go as far as getting pre-order and/or collector editions?

Mass Effect 2 at release: bad game.
Dragon Age 2 at release: bad game.
Mass Effect 3 at release: great game, lackluster ending.
Other games from EA: bad games at release, never fixed.

My answer: no more playing "at release" games from EA & any of their studios.  The pre-order bonus for the collector's edition weren't worth it, by the 2nd or 3rd mission you already have better guns than what they offered.
The rest is gizmos I haven't even looked at.

I could have waited 6 months, bought the game for 40$ with at least 2-3 DLCs.  But I really wanted ME3...  The Lair of the Shadow broker and the other DLCs were really nice, so were the DLCs for DA2, I thought ME3 would be great, from beginning to end.

Not that I disagree entirely wiht the ending, but I felt cheated that the game is only 40hrs long (below 80hrs for an RPG, it's a very short game) and has 3 identical endings.

In all likelihood I won't be buying DA3 at launch. I'm not going to rule out buying it entirely, but after the disappointment of DA2 and the mess they made of ME3's ending it's looking less and less likely.

From current indications it seems that Bioware is simply going to shaft people who want a new ending. So why in God's name would I want to spend more money on anything that they have to offer? And Pre-ordering, sight unseen and reviewer (by that I mean actual game reviews by people, not paid off hacks who write for magazines that need revenue by those companies asking them to review their games)? HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I've been a supporter of Bioware since the Baldur's Gate days and can say that it seems all but a formality that, at PAX, I will wish Bioware products farewell and play games from a company that still cares about the quality of their products.

I'll play it, but Bioware needs to prove each game worthy of my money before I give it to them now, as far as I'm concerned. I just don't trust them anymore.

Nope, not even because Mass Effect 3, but because Dragon Age 2 was so bad..

Ugly environments that kept on repeating themselves? Only a handful of conversations with your companions? No thanks, the bad really outweighed the good in that game.

I will wait and see.

I won't, I'm thinking I'm done with EA and BioWare even if they fix things.

While I enjoyed DA2, I'll be waiting for player reviews before I pick up DA3.

I plan on getting DA3 when it arrives if it arrives, and all the DLC stuff as well, always wanted the full game experience from the bioware games, some people had a big issue with jade empire still love playing that.

DA2 had some political things in it and religion like stuff but it was still a good game, but the replay value of DA2 was not as high as DA1 was and the expansion, might have played DA1 and expansions through 4 times or more DA2 i think i played it through 1 time and tried a second time but stopped near the start just not the same appeal the second time.

I pre-ordered the Jade Empire CE to get the bonus character. This year, I did the same thing for ME3. But now, I'm never buying another BioWare game at launch again. When the absolute best case scenario (which probably isn't even likely) is having to wait a month before you can find out if there will even BE a proper ending at some undefined future time, something's gone horribly wrong. I'd happily trade my N7 hoodie and robot dog for an ending that actually makes sense from both narrative and gameplay points of view.

No.  Whether I even buy it at all is contingent upon two things:

  • How Bioware handles the ME 3 endings fiasco
  • What fan reviews have to say about the game after release.

No.  I'm done with preordering games and I'm done with collector's editions.  The last three games I preordered (all Bioware games, by the way) were not worth it.  Nor were the collector's edition bonuses.

If player reviews are great, ill buy it a week or two after release. Whether or not I buy it new or used depends on how the handle the ME3 ending. No way I'm preordering or buying it day 1 though.
