Dragon Age is developed by a completely different team. I think David Gaider even said that if you're gonna make a trilogy, you should end it on a high note, so I'm actually fairly optimistic. I also don't really get the hate for DAII. Sure, it wasn't on the same scale as Origins, but it set up the groundwork for a massive conflict that DA3 can exploit and for what it was, it was damned enjoyable. So yeah, I will be playing Dragon Age 3 at release.
After ME3, will you play Dragon Age 3 at release?

I loved Dragon Age 2. I will be there at midnight for my 80$ DA3 Collector's Edition (if one is available).
Sh!t, I'll do the same thing for Mass Effect 4.
ME3's ending can suck it long and suck it hard & seriously broke my heart, but Bioware has provided me with more hours of gameplay (that I've adored) than I can count. Until they reeeeally burn me again I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as far as the quality of their products are concerned.

No, DA 2 was the shot heard around my head. It was after that game I started fearing for Bioware. I told myself that this was a different team, that they wouldn't let the deadline pressure , etc. interfere, they would not cut corners. Now after playing ME 3, so many cut corners, things that just do not make sense. yes there was greatness but so much wasted potential. And then there is the endings..
I cannot see DA 3 being as good as Origins, but who know s I may be surprised. I will have to wait and see.

There's a thread somewhere on the first few pages that asks why we're on the forum. Personally I'm here largely because I love nitpicking and this is what I'd call fertile ground, but also because I placed a good deal of value in Mass Effect. I invested in it, heavily.
And while this investment was ultimately met with dissapointment, I can't deny it was there. I can't deny that I will seek that sensation in the future, in spite of the blow it might have landed.
And where else am I going to find it? Who else puts the care and attention into narrative and character? So they dropped a few big balls, don't mean they don't got game.

No. After DA2, I hadn't had much faith in DA3 anyway.

I think a better question is after da2, will you play da3 at release? Not till i see some reviews on da3 forums.

I'm not going to let ME3 put me off, but it's very rare I buy a game at release anyway. Will see what general opinion is before I even consider DA3.

Different writers. DA3 needs to be judged on DA2. So.... no. Not on release. Used a few months later maybe.

Yeah, this.
I'm not only going to be DA3 on release, I'm in the process of re-buying the entire series for PC so I can stop having to put up with bugs that never get patched and just fix them myself, like I do with every other EA product I own.
The problem with ME3's ending is I can't just fix it with a fan-made mod . . . well, I guess we could just turn Koobismo's comic into bik files and just replace the ending movies with those. Hrm.

Uh, no, and not because of ME3. I'm basing that off DA2. I'll be waiting for reviews on the forum before being duped again. <_<

I was completely let down by DA2. I loved DA:O it was the perfect blend of RPG, story and I loved the depth of the combat system. Than I pre-order DA2 and I get something closer to a hack N slash version of a Fable 2 rip off. I did give it a honest try, I got to the beginning of chapter 3 and at that point I said it just wast worth it anymore. I bought every piece of DLC the day it came out for ME1, ME2, and DA:O because I felt they were truly great RPG games, but DA2 was just too watered down to be any fun for someone like me who wants a hardcore RPG instead of one made for the casual gamer.
In the back of my mind I always felt that they would learn from their mistake in DA2 and make DA3 more like origins, but after seeing the "artistic integrity" they put into ME3 I think I might be wrong. Story is important in an RPG to me and if they choose to say screw you to the fans and take the easy road by force feeding us a weak story, horrible hack N slash combat, and instead focus on things like DLC than I will just not buy it. I'll wait and see how the fans react to it in forums, facebook, etc. as I've learned not to trust reviewers after the thoughtless praise they gave ME3.
So, no I wont play DA3 at release, Ill wait to see what people say about it and myabe ill buy it eventually. If its as big of a dissapointment as DA2 was than the series is dead to me.

No, frell no, and absolutely gorram not. I was shocked at the bad plotting and sloppy execution in DA II (let's just say I got hit by pretty much all the major bugs and several of the moderate ones and leave it at that), and expected ME3 to nail the ending to compensate. Suffice to say I'm not impressed.ReggarBlane wrote...

With the current state of things? No I'll not be going near DA3. Even if I were, I'd wait two months and check out indy/personal reviews if I did. I'd also flat out ignore any professional game sites after the whole mess with ME3 as well.

OP: Unlikely at this point. I loved ME3, I also enjoyed DA2, rushed though it was. I have purchased most of the dlc that Bioware has put out for its titles so far. But I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with EA's business practices, particularly if it turns out that ME3 always planned for paid DLC that makes sense of its current ending. There is a limit to what 'core ' content I am prepared to pay for in the future. A 'proper' ending to a game is not something I want to pay extra for, and I don't really want to endorse it as a model for good business. I would buy such a dlc for ME3 (though I'm ashamed to admit it) - they kind of have me over a barrel with the ME franchise because I'm that invested in it after 5 years and more hours than I can count.
DA3 will, therefore, be a victim of my decision to avoid future EA titles until I can buy them pre-owned. It makes me really sad, because I do still love Bioware and the stories they tell and I have huge respect for the talented people on the teams. But it is getting to the point where EA needs to be hit where it hurts. And since Bioware and Sims games are the only EA titles I buy with any regularity, they are the only titles I can stop buying.
Should the incredibly unlikely thing happen, and 'sense making' dlc for the ME3 ending is released free of charge, I may reconsider my position.

Taking into account the terrible ending of ME3, and the overall failure that was DA2, my answer is a resounding NO.

Almost certainly not. It would take amazing player reviews (NOT gaming magazines or websites, those are forever tainted by this) to get me to try it out.
