In an interview before ME3's release she said that she had recorded many different death scenes for shepard, but in the two scenes that shepard can die there is no dialouge, so maybe there will be a dlc that was recorded before release.

Link please, pretty please...

I don't have a link either, but I've seen a clip from their audio team were they also commented on recording several death scenes with the actors.

How are they planning on clarifying the endings then?

Easy. submit DLC that has a narration or animatic, or even with the voice actors that explains what happens based on the ending you got.

Simple.

Not a new ending. Its a clarification.

I am not even arguing your point.  You are right, no new endings, just clarification, but how exactly would that work without the VAs?  A text screen?

One of many possibilities. All the Star Wars films started with a WALL of TEXT Scrolling before you to explain what was going on in their universe. No narration. No animatic. Just a wall of text.

@Dream Tension - sorry I didnt mean to offend. I just find the theory to be sort of funny, that's all.

@McFly616 - the endings paper from Mac Walters in the final hours app. It pretty much shows that he wasn't under the influence of indoctrination.

Polite:
No worries with me...I'm not offended by anything that you said.  I just meant I wasn't going to talk about the IDT being disproved because I didn't want this to go in that direction.
It's all good.

The Final Hours app has become the number one source of disproven the IDT.  It's interesting.  I don't have it (nor do I plan on purchasing until the endings are 'fixed').  I don't have a retort because I don't know exactly what was said.

Either that or Shepard is dead regardless of ending.

Bioware never promised a new ending, at the very least we will get a patched ending that fixes some plot holes, expands the dialogue with the Catalyst, and a proper written epilogue.

@Dream Tension - its basically a sheet of paper describing what's supposed to be going on in the ending. I dont remember exactly as I don't have the app, but it was floating around the Internet for a while. Don't know if it still is.

Weird, cause Mark Meer said he was scheduled to do more voice work for DLC in an interview before this.

LOL. In the new DLC ending, all of the epilogues will feature MaleShep regardless of whether or not you were female. *cue hysteria*

Well, they want to yank the control of the story from the players to to developers right?

Artistic integrity!

I make no joke that if that were to happen, I'd snap my disc.

I jest. If it really did happen, I think my head would explode.

Question is: Does she know what the ending looks like in the released game? Maybe she already recorded the real ending unknowing that it's not included yet.

Straws - I likes them.

EMERGENCY INDUCTION PORT!
More to the topic: I kinda feel sorry for the voice actors - they worked hard, did a pretty good job and yet the feedback from players is as it is... It must be hard >.>

well, if they plan to alter the ending or add to it, then we can't be expecting to get it immediately. It will take time to plan and then execute. I'm assuming they didn't expect this big backlash, so they didn't have anything planned.

While I'm not going to go so far as to say that they actually did this, if you were holding out until PAX to reveal IT, would you really show a random third party group papers you had discussing it before doing so?

It'd be like if before Sixth Sense came out, Bruce Willis went out and did interviews saying "I turn out to be a ghost in the end, but dont let anyone know, this is just a secret between you, me, and the video camera!"

Why would they need Hale or Meer?  Shepard is dead.  And if they're defending their "good" ending so badly and want Shepard to be alive, they just need someone to run through the Legion/Geth voice filter.

Since Shepard is part synthetic now. ;)

Looking forward to some sort of announcement at PAX. Frankly getting sick of the "speculation" and trolling the forums everyday for some ray of hope. lol

Unless the ending was planned to have a DLC type finish to it, we wont be seeing an ending for at least 6 months, is my guess, assuming we get one. Honestly though, for me personally, the amount of bad the last 2 of their games endings were, I think BW has dropped quite a bit for me in terms of order of purchases. Unless there is nothing I want during the same time as a bioware game, I'll be picking them 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st.

The "journey" does not excuse bad written endings, and just like a book or show, if the ending is bad it colors the whole series in a bad light, not just the ending.

I'll answer that last question for her: It will be the end of Bioware.

If they don't adress this then I would agree. They'll probably still make DA3 but sales won't be as good as expected. At this rate I'm giving BioWare another 4 - 5 years max.

Ahh well, maybe once BioWare is gone, the writers can team up and form a new studio free from EA. Keep dreaming huh?

None of this really means anything...they wouldn't need the voice actors until closer to the end anyway.

Wouldnt she atleast need a date? I mean, what if she gets offered a job recording for a new game?

"Sorry Bioware, Im too busy to record for you, maybe you should have given more notice?"

Yeah...something about the Final Hours App is just odd.  Like they are giving clues then backtracking.  I need to read the whole thing to be fully educated because a lot of the quotes seem out of context.

Clarification = It took the mass sacrifice of the current galactic civilizations to end the cycle, that was the cost of victory.

Doesn't mean the ending is anything but lazy writing (lack of conclusion, wishy washy themes, half promises of something grander) and presentation (limping around for the last 20 minutes, little dialogue options, RGB ending) sorry Bioware, but it was or you wouldn't have had this backlash.

Probably...if they don't charge for it (which would only be a new pr catastrophy) it has to be as cheap as it can get.

*shrug* Unless the ending was already recorded in the original sessions.

Grasping at emergency intake ports, I realize.
