I voted for BofA. EA is a terrible, terrible company, but I think BofA is unambiguously worse. Still, EA is golden poo worthy so I'm not bothered over it. And the three pillow color options are awesome.

+1.  As much as I dislike EA, I dislike BofA 1000x more.

Really people?

One company directly contributed to tanking the US economy, and then got your tax dollars as a bail-out.

The other **** out DLC for video games.

If you voted for EA on this you are no longer entitled to have an opinion on anything.

Hey guess what?  I doubt many of us even knew about this beforehand.  250,000+ voted in that poll.  This was not a result of our displeasure but the faceless 'majority' instead, non-gamers included.

Dunno how I feel about this.

I see what the article says, trying to not demean those who voted for the result of their poll, or the validity of the manner in which they chose to run it (open online polls), but really...

BOA has DESTROYEED lives. EA may go as far as to destroy the little part of lives that we do look forward to and enjoy, but BOA's responsibility and importance to its customers is FAR greater than that of EA.

This makes me sad.

Well, I voted for BoA.

But there's nothing about this that I don't find extremely funny :)

Surely, BoA deserved the price more (together with all the other Banks that rip-off countless people), but this is still an interessting sign.

Bank of America *is* worse. This is ridiculous.

EA - a video game publisher - beat out a bank that really does destroy lives because Mass Effect 3 had a crap ending (and let's face it, it's only because of ME3's ending).

This whole reaction went from embarrassing to something far, far beyond that. I don't even know.

Think about it all the other way. Both were at the finals, both are piles of crap. Doesn't really matter who of the two get the poo because we already know both of them are horrible. It's a win win scenario and just go for the ride.

I think it's a good thing EA won. In my opinion, BofA = incompetent retards, but EA = predatory money devils and cunning creativity vortexes.

In this world, we work and we play. For most people, the work part is monotonous and boring yet necessary. Like breathing and eating. But the play part is what we do when we're not working. When we're relaxing, having fun, being ourselves etc.

For many people, video games are a massive part of Play. And when a demonic leviathan like EA comes around, sucking all our money and our favorite companies' franchises and creative energy into a dark cold void, that's a bad thing. A very, very bad thing.

If you voted for EA on this you are no longer entitled to have an opinion on anything.

And if you think that this contest really matters beyond a niche of the Internet crowd, you have rendered your opinion obsolete for being unable to take things into proper perspective.

Wow. Get your priorities straight guys. EA made a bad game ending, Bank of America has destroyed people's lives.

And EA has done so much worse than this one bad ending. If they could they'd charge a monthly fee for SP games. Both of those companies ruin people and steal our money.

I also doubt many people outside the US give a damn about the BofA. So they vote for the company they actually know and hate.

Exactly.

I remember not only this ****** of an ending, but also what EA did to Bullfrog, Westwood Studios, Origin Systems, and others...

I just read this article a few moments ago.
Personally it's all crap (pun intended) but really the award should have gone to BoA.
Where one company is responsible for destroying video game franchises with it's greed, the other is responsible for destroying actual LIVES, pensions, and people's finances.

None of us like EA, but really for those who voted, it really shouldn't have gone to EA for a few messed up video- games.

Do I like that EA won the big shiny turd, sure. I hope they get the message, it just feels like this missed the mark for sending a message to the real evil corporation.

Banks have a ****ton of regulations and you can actually take them to court, Banks have to tip toe on the border of the laws in order to screw people and you can defeat them if you actually have a case, the same applies to BofA they may have destroyed lives, but if those people where in the right, they could fight back and make BofA pay.

Gamers have NO way to fight EA monopoly, oh look is a "New" Football game

The gaming market has no regulations, no laws, the fact that Bioware can just say whatever they want about ME3 and no one has called their bull**** lies on the media (because is not illegal to lie to gamers) is the reason the gaming media is broken, there is just NO ONE to protect us of the Big ****s in suits, normally when you get screwed by a bank is your damn fault for failing to read carefully, when a gaming company screws us there is nothing we can do about it.

That is why BofA got silver, because no matter the lives they destroyed, the law punished them when they where wrong and supported them when they where right, there is no law to protect us.

Poor B of A, that's runner up two years in a row.
My wife is into the Sims, has been forever, she told me when EA took over Bioware that no good would come of it, told me they were evil and spent there entire lives dreaming up new ways of gouging their customers. I thought everything would be fine. They have the reverse midas touch.

I think it's funny EA got it. Other people are more deserving, but it probably HURTS EA MORE to receive this than it would have hurt BoA.

Everybody knows about BoA. EA isn't even on a lot of people's radars.

You forget the day 1 DLC, use of stock photo's from internet, Dragon Age 2, Dragon age 2 DLC, Sims, kicking out Wright because you want to mil the Sims, charging insane amounts of money for some digital furniture in the Sims, should I go on? Just the first things that come to mind.

Oh yeah, Fifa 12. An unfinished product with the worst physics engine ever. Same for your Madden, I guess.

They fully deserve this, based on their consumer strategy of the last years. At a certain point, the people will snap, like what is happening in WOW right now. Losing millions of players.

I find it strange James Cameron didn't see John Riccitiello when he went down with his submarine. I mean...has EA sunken even lower then that?

You need to read a little less BSN and a little more newspapers if you really think that's true. If anything, I'd say it's the reverse, minus the creativity vortex part.

Don't get me wrong, EA is your typical big corporation concerned with nothing but money to a tee.

BoA is on a whole new different level of evil.

Electronic ****s is a half-ass video game company aimed at Zerg rushing mother****ing games to retards Founded in 1982 by Trip "On Acid" Hopkins, ass raping the **** out of games through history, most notably Shaq-Fu, Catwoman, and Def Jam: Vendetta. EA is like Scientology for games. EA IS THE CANCER KILLING VIDEO GAMES.

Lets just ignore the economic downturn and the fault of the banks in that, oh no lets just ignore that because a publisher gave me a mediocre ending to a game.

It makes me laugh how EA apparently doesn't think we remember the shameful past actions re: the companys you mention.  It absolutely does factor in the minds of a great many game-fans.  Totally not surprised they've been recognised again with such a disgraceful award.
Of course I suspect EA will be convincing themselves that its a revenge vote from the disenchanted masses for ME3 and thus it will have no effect whatsoever, ie: they will not even acknowledge the fact.

Let's ignore that this is a dumb contest catering to a niche crowd because some people don't know how to take things in context.

EA wins this contest. If a highly popular, reputable service tried this, the outcome would be different. If you're too cynical to realize that, why are you here?
