One of the biggest sells of the TES games is the ability to mod the game to fit the players tastes.  While I generally just tweek things some or improve my PC, other remake the whole game.

I recall when playing BG and BG2 I didn't mod it much, but I did add my own Avatar pics.  I would love to be able to do this again and was wondering if it would be possible, or if the security features may prevent it?

I don't like to do a lot of changes, but I do want:

Custom Avatars - As an artist I just love doing this.
Attribute adjuster (like what Gatekeeper did). - Not to cheat per say (make someone with all 18's) but so I can make them be like a D&D character or someone else I know.
Custom Voices - Maybe, never did this myself but I did use an Anora sound file once as I just loved her voice.

I'm sure there are many other things that people changed or modded.  So I guess my question is, will this be easy to do or will it take some major hacking to get it done?

Thanks.

Trent Oster said that they are definately going to be making BGEE moddable. And as far as I know he said something about existing BG mods working on BGEE.

Not quite sure how that will work but thats what he said.

My own best guesses here but, probably they'll leave in the same mod compatability for existing infinity engine mods and modders to work on the game.

At best, they'll produce and include tools which make modding the game easier.

Where I can see this falling on its face is in where the mod community has already thrown its efforts.
Most mods for the infinity engine are for Baldur's Gate II, as of right now the most popular mod for Baldur's Gate is BGT or BGTutu which brings Baldur's Gate into Baldur's Gate II's engine.

Most mods are then based on BGTutu and are required to use it, with few exceptions like Unfinished Buisness, DoSC, (or This comprehensive list: modlist.pocketplane.net/index.php ). Even then, you have to look and make sure you install non-widu first, then widu and do any of these use tutu. Not to mention, several mods for vanilla Baldur's Gate have fallen off the map.

Of course, compatability is such a headache, you may as well install the BiG World and forget about it.
