-Okidoki. Sure. And no. It wont be easy now. Infact I do not envy the spinteam/marketing guys at bioware. Finding a compromise to suit all will be extremely difficult but that I only see as an even more important factor in taking the "Retake" guys serious. The can raise a fecal blizzard. But they can also calm it down.
And yes. They want to prepare us for DA3. However mentioning DA3 now will only cause the filth that surrounds ME to rub on of DA3. And that has the DA2 legacy. It doesnt need more dirt. Id really... and I mean REALLY try to keep those IPs miles apart at this stage.
But again. It wont matter that much. From when DA3 gets announced to when it gets released, people are going to be going over every single word Bioware states about that francise. They will pick it apart with toothpics to find bugs, logic and lore inconsistencies and anything that even remotely reminds them of the DA2, Bazaar, Deception and ME3 issues. And no game is perfect on relase, so dirt will be found. I dont envy the guys on the DA3 team either.
I have not picked up DAII so I cannot comment on that. For everything else, not just from Bioware, but the recent trend coming up from EA and some of their recent issues. I think not just us, but independant people will be looking over anything not just for inconsitensies, but just in spite also.
For the marketing and spinning they will have their hands full, but that is what they are paid to do. They will try and make us forget all this stuff, which the fans on either side will not forget the current issues and banter. Still if they somehow quell the beast which is us then they might have some time to let wounds somehow heal.
Although from what I heard about DA:2 I am not sure. Still my friend said it best, I loved Bioware, and I still love the worlds they made. Once they went under the banner of EA they are not the same Bioware, I realized this and I have moved on. This I think reverberates more on what will happen once this is done, some shall become cathartic, we shall just not care and move on away from the company, while others will look at anything under a microscope trying to find a reason to get this.
Hell some might just keep going on and not worry. I dunno, but I do agree I would not be wanting to be a writer on anything Bioware right now, or on their spin team.
