I'd be real interested in seeing your source for this claim.

Don't hold your breath because if there was any dirt on it, we would be hearing about it.

About $80K was raised for the Childs Play charity and $80K was donated.

I am just taking this. You asked it Bioware/EA want to calm this down. I replied saying they do want it done, but it won't be easy since it is turning into a politcal quagmire on either side cause of the extremes. They do want it done to prepare the populous for DA:3 that is constant.

-Okidoki. Sure. And no. It wont be easy now. Infact I do not envy the spinteam/marketing guys at bioware. Finding a compromise to suit all will be extremely difficult but that I only see as an even more important factor in taking the "Retake" guys serious. The can raise a fecal blizzard. But they can also calm it down.

And yes. They want to prepare us for DA3. However mentioning DA3 now will only cause the filth that surrounds ME to rub on of DA3. And that has the DA2 legacy. It doesnt need more dirt. Id really... and I mean REALLY try to keep those IPs miles apart at this stage.

But again. It wont matter that much. From when DA3 gets announced to when it gets released, people are going to be going over every single word Bioware states about that francise. They will pick it apart with toothpics to find bugs, logic and lore inconsistencies and anything that even remotely reminds them of the DA2, Bazaar, Deception and ME3 issues. And no game is perfect on relase, so dirt will be found. I dont envy the guys on the DA3 team either.

I do not plan to buy DA3...DA:O was so much fun and an incredible game, I pre-ordered DA2. I got it and brought it home, but played other games to get content and items for DA2. Then I played it....and nearly instantly I was at a loss. As it stands I have had yet to finish it. I worried about ME3 so much bcause of DA2. But I had faith and I still pre-ordered ME3 (DA2 was the first game I ever pre-ordered) I loved ME3, sure some elements were rushed, but it didn't have the compromise DA2 did. Until the ending. Felt so rushed, unfinished.

Damn and I loved BioWare..KoTOR I, II. DA:O, ME1 ME2 ME3 (99%).

Elites are actually a possibility, there are like 2 or 3 factions of them 1 is willing to deal with humans another wants them dead the third is idk. Engineers for sure are allies, If forerunners are there (unlikely) they are probably allies. There is also a group of humans that are all crazy now to.
rest of covies are probably bad, and jackals are mercs.

That's what happened with Operation Cupcake. At first, BioWare employees were happy to get cupcakes even though they knew we were ribbing them. Then, they stopped responding to the thread and we got a canned PR letter when the cupcakes were delivered.

Breakaway faction?

All of the elites broke from the covies, they would have been killed by them otherwise.
3 factions, 1 for human alliance, one directly against human LIFE, and one for isolation or something.

I have not picked up DAII so I cannot comment on that. For everything else, not just from Bioware, but the recent trend coming up from EA and some of their recent issues. I think not just us, but independant people will be looking over anything not just for inconsitensies, but just in spite also.

For the marketing and spinning they will have their hands full, but that is what they are paid to do. They will try and make us forget all this stuff, which the fans on either side will not forget the current issues and banter. Still if they somehow quell the beast which is us then they might have some time to let wounds somehow heal.

Although from what I heard about DA:2 I am not sure. Still my friend said it best, I loved Bioware, and I still love the worlds they made. Once they went under the banner of EA they are not the same Bioware, I realized this and I have moved on. This I think reverberates more on what will happen once this is done, some shall become cathartic, we shall just not care and move on away from the company, while others will look at anything under a microscope trying  to find a reason to get this.

Hell some might just keep going on and not worry. I dunno, but I do agree I would not be wanting to be a writer on anything Bioware right now, or on their spin team.

Oh, Retake are back to attempting charity drives again rather than novel and innovative protests like Operation Cupcake. That's somewhat of a shame, an something I doubt will end up well.

The new group will be unrelated and not associated with the Retake movement. It will be a group made up of gamers combining forces to improve the world. Whether you agree with the Retake movement or not, even if you have never heard of it as long as you enjoy playing video games we want you to join our group. The members of the Retake movement are just a drop in the ocean compared to the numbers of gamers around the world, and we want to unite everyone together.

There's alarm bells right there. The likelihood of such a charity movement remaining entirely seperate from Retake and not being used as a tool by anyone associated with it seems pretty slim to me. Even if they say it's unrelated the fact that it's stemmed from the movement will mean that's not the case. I really do wish they'd just stop with the giving to charity thing... if members of the group want to give then great, do it in private. There's no need it needs to be done publically and alongside the movement as to many people that'll just set it all in a bad light.

So many other more pertinent issues are affecting the quality of gaming that to worry about this just makes you seem agenda driven in saying that. To me anyway. Despite having just implied that it's irrelevant, how does a community asking for more variety in choice lead to linearity?

Because they're not going to want to run the chance of giving gamers choices and having said gamers hate them and revolt.  The movement is sending out the signal that "If you don't like something about this game, we have the right to demand it be changed!" And that's dangerous territory.

Most of you aren't asking anything, you're demanding them change the endings to their game. In which you have no right to do. Asking, yes. Demanding, no.

I see two demands commonly at play here: people who are asking abrasively and people who are demanding
as fans/customers. You seem to be referring to the latter but I think you must really mean the former as customers do have a right to that, insofar as anyone has a right to anything. If so, then I agree that being calm and polite is the way to be, though BioWare will say yes or they will say no and the tact of the request won't truly matter.

Full Paragon hasn't reached anything like its total goal, so I suggest anyone who wants to give to charity as a positive outlet for their ending-related frustration should give to it.

Personally, since we've already had Child's Play, Full Paragon, and the cupcakes, I would be in favour of a new initiative that gets creative juices flowing rather than just mimicking what's already been achieved.
