Should potions use willpower, not magic, to determine bonus?

Like the title says...

The main issue is that all magic is the preferred route to take with mages because even though you don't have regen you can pop a magic attribute enhanced potion and be fine. It also gives willpower enough of a boost so some warrior/rogue builds may even consider putting points into it.

WIL affecting pots, the addition of stam pots, and the imposition of a real cooldown period on all pots would be a good start.

Personally, this is how I'd like to have it:

WIL affects Stamina Poultices.
MAG affects Mana Poultices.
WIL, MAG and CON affects Health Poultices.

The total healing coeffiency of health poultices should be increased to 150% of current total, to compensate for the new split.

Cooldowns for poults should increase by 5 + 2 seconds for each step up; 5, 12, 19, 28, etc.

I don't think any stat should affect potions. I also wish there were some limit on how many you could use in a given period, without it being a straight long cooldown that forces you to quaff one every time that timer hits zero in order to keep up with damage.

I would prefer if either no stat affected potions and they were kept at the base minimum level OR that CON affected health potions (to make CON a more worthwhile investment which it currently is not).
I also would prefer that all health potions were on the same cooldown and all mana potions on the same cooldown so that you can't have 3 or 4 different tier potions you can instachug in one go.

Sounds good to me. That would make WIL more valuable, while keeping magic out of the skill point spread for rogues/warriors (which I assume no one uses anyway?)

The magic attribute should provide ~some~ benefit to warriors and rogues, perhaps if willpower improves potion results, magic stat should increase resistances?

I think the main problem is the lack of utility in attributes for mages beyond magic and to a lesser extent willpower. If you're willing to have a harder time of it in the early-mid game you can even ignore willpower as well and put all of your points into magic. When you reach the mid-end game you have a high enough magic rating and a great enough supply of gold to make sure your mage can quaff as many potions as he/she wants to, even regular lesser heals or heals will almost fill the hp bar and those go for only a few silver at vendors!

I don't see why an attribute that mages can quite succesfully put all their points in (perhaps from a powergaming perspective even should put all their points into) should also boost potions. I mean that only makes con and wil less valuable and magic more op as an investment choice.

I don't know if magic should help warriors/rogues...I mean it's never going to be enough for them to put points into so what would be the purpose?

As of now WIL plays a very minor role for all classes. It's more noticeable for mages because that leaves them with only one worthwhile stat which does not make for very interesting choices upon level up.
