Yeah, I think that is pretty much the consensus conclusion on both points. Biotic combos effectively preclude any approach that relies on waiting until the power burns out.

I just wish Bioware would stop ****footing about with Singularity and just bring back the ME1 version. Sure, it was overpowered but I'd prefer overpowered to redundant any day, and its not like the game is chock-full of totally broken concepts anyway.

every ability the adept has is redundant. its pretty flawed design, ESPECIALLY with global cooldowns.

anyone else get mad that enemies get flung out of singularity? as in theyl spin around once then fling off on the ground near the singularity. its essentially doing exactly what pull would have done. do i even need singularity playing an adept anymore???? its barely better then stadard biotics. the obvious problem is singularity shouldnt be looking up to stasis.

singualrity should be instacast, larger radius, and stronger hold on protected enemies. as is, its barely better then spamming pull, if it even is better at all.

im actually thinking about not even hotkeying singularity with my adept. i dont use it as much as throw and warp, and stasis is better. so whats the leave me to do with singularity?

does bioware know singularity is still the adepts signature ability?

and dont get me started on what bionades are supposed to offer the adept. two signatire abilities, one that simply is worse then the rest, and another one that doesnt even fit the classes playstyle.

Realistically, it hasn't been a signature ability from ME2 onwards - the concept of biotic combos became their 'signature' back in ME2 and Singularity became a defence-agnostic CC power.

In ME3 Singularity has sort of... devolved into an alternative to Pull. I think this was what the developers were trying to do in an effort to make the Adept an unparalleled CCer. The problem is, as with ME2, it feels like there was conflicting opinions in the dev team about how the powers work vs the prevalence of defences, and they've ended up with a largely pointless power.

I'm honestly considering just packing in my current playthrough, restarting from scratch, modding out the whole weight mechanic and modding in Stasis. I'm not bothered about 'cheating' when the balance is such a mess.

well I guess you COULD just cast Singularity at a high traffic location, then use pull+throw somewhere else, in which case the DOT and the Explosion on Singularity could be used...but I would never use it like that...
