For my first run though was going to be an elven mage if possible having a some what complicated romance with Alistair but from the posts i was reading it sounds as if it cant be done or if a elf can get with him its pointless because he can become king and then what would happen to my heartbroken elf. Image IPB

Another question i had was a read in one thread about something being wrong with a elf and human baby.. is it actually a physical thing wrong or just looked down on(i was curious with the term elf calf or something another)Image IPB

He can become king but that doesn't necessarily happen in all of the endings.

From what I have heard in other discussions on here, you can still hook up with Alistair. There is a possibility where he will basically take the throne from Anora by himself meaning you could be queen.

The issue with the human-elf baby is that it is always human. There is no trace of an elven mother. This was shown at the end of the Calling novel...

Hope this helps.

My guess is that you can talk Alistair out of becoming King to be with you. In that case, Anora would continue to rule. And elves are really looked down upon so it would be an insult to have an elven mother.

Just convince Alistair not to become king. When a human and elf have a baby it is a human baby. That's why it's looked down on; elves would be bred out if they all mated with humans.

hey? I'm sure it's quite possible for an elf to romance Alistair, Alistair has a few possible ending possibilities... Nothing is wrong with an elf and human baby, it's just that the baby is always born human. You can't get a half elf or elven child with a human and an elf couple. That's all. :)

I'm sure you can romance Alistair as an elf, Alistair has many possible endings... I plan on doing the same thing my first play through so we'll both find out what happens.

Nothing is wrong with the baby of an elf and a human, it's just that the baby will always be born human. There are no half elves in Ferelden.

Nothing is wrong with a human and an elf's child, it's just that they are always born human. There are no half elves, and this is why elves that marry or mate with a human are considered traitors to their kind because their progeny can never be elves.

From my understanding of the endings your character does have a chance of being Alistair's queen.

Also apparently there are no half breeds in this world. A child between a human and elf comes out human.

To my knowledge the offspring of a human and elf joining is just a normal human, I could be wrong though.

elf+human will always produce a human child, this sis why its looked down upon mostly by elfs. As they would die out if they kept having babies with humans instead of other elves. Making you something to a traitor of your race if you get on with a human.

Child of and elf/human couple will, ignoring exact genetics, be human. Nothing bad happening there. There might be some hint in the curve of the ear or like that, but in all practicality the child will be human.

The only way to become queen with Alistair is if you are a human noble.

If you harden him during his personal quest, he will keep you as a mistress if he becomes king.

Or you can make Anora queen and you and Alistair can ride off into the sunset.

But as anything other then a human noble (not even a human mage) you cannot be queen. If you don't harden Alistair, and you make him king, he will dump you.

In all honesty...Alistair complains about not wanting to be king the entire game...and Anora wants to be queen...so I would just let her. I almost always play as a human noble, and I have yet to put him on the throne.

The question of the baby doesn't matter because you have none, you just stay together whenever you choose to do at the of the game if you don't make him king.

Or make him king and get dumped.

I must have missed that part?

Alistair isn't really the responsible father type, and what about your duty to the Grey Wardens? :o  Ferelden is going to need more.

Yeah, because Aerie's stealth pregnancy sub-plot worked out so well.

Dunno, all i know is that he wished to have a family.
Ferelden has Anora.

By the why I was talking about girls characters that male PC can romance.

What are you talking about? I can't think of any game character that would make a better father than Alistair. He is responsible and caring and he likes to play with dolls.

I thought he was a closet homosexual.  Anora thinks so. Image IPB

Why would that make him a worse father?

Hmm you make a good point.

But for my tastes and impossible-to-live-up-to standards, he can keep dreaming.
