MMA is getting more and more awesome.

Now let's see if Jon Jones can stand against the legend killer, Dan Henderson.

Henderson's a very legit threat, that right hand of his can chop anybody down. Give Alex Gustafson another year and he will be too.

I find it surprising how many people are on this forum yet how little people seem to care about the ultimate form of competition.

We got a Karate master (real master by the way) Muay Thai specialists (Anderson used to train with Jose Pele Landis) and Olympic calibre Judokas and wrestlers, yet people still believe the tired old trope that MMA is just two wrestlers hugging each other and therefore boring.

This card on FOX should disprove people that still hold faith in the old excuse of MMA being bums that can't fight.

About Jones vs. Henderson. Man Henderson has his work cut out for him, Jones knows how to use that freak reach he got.

Well Benson took it, barely. I thought he comfortably won his first fight with Edgar, but was lucky to get the decision this time. He's got to work on his head movement and hand speed.

Haven't seen the fight, but from what I've been hearing Edgar won it on almost all MMA sites. Bad judging?

No it was just close, a case of Edgar losing the early rounds and winning later ones, which always makes a stronger impression. Benson was tentative though. If it went to Edgar I wouldn't have complained.

Cerrone vs. Guillard...wow, lol.

Ladies night tonight *whistles*. We'll see if Ronda can take a few on the chin and still secure the clinch. Cause she's going to get hit against Kaufman.

I'd say MMA is dull nowadays, as someone who used to watch the sport religiously a for the best part of the 00's. I'll still watch UFC occasionally and Bellator is pretty good too, but I'm almost much done with the sport at the moment. I'm down to like 3 fighters that I'm interested in watching.

Ronda by arm bar. Again. There isn't a female striker good enough to keep her away. Once she gets the clinch you might as well throw in the towel.

Tomorrow it's the return of GSP! He's the heavy favourite, let's see what happens.

I favor GSP by laborious, drawn out decision.

This fight has 50-45 GSP written all over it. At least Kampmann-Hendricks should be pretty good.

Agreed. I favor Kampmann in that one, only slightly. Hendricks hits like a truck.

Kampman has shown he has a good chin though in his fights. On paper though Hendricks should take it. Gotta root for Kampman though since I live in Denmark (not Danish).

Sakara wins by 5 illegal blows to the back of Cote's head...where do they find these f*ckin' refs? Sometimes the UFC is such a joke.

edit- nevermind, I guess it was called a DQ. What a pathetic job by the ref though.

Big Dan, best ref in the game when it comes to being a horrible ref.

About the main event, I think the only surprise was Carlos won a round in a otherwise fight made for GSP.

Yep. Typical GSP fight. Strike for the first minute, then take it to the ground and milk the clock. I hate to say that, he's a great fighter, but he should work for submissions more on the ground. I think he could give Silva trouble and possibly grind out a win, but if Condit can catch him like that, Silva sure as hell can.

I don't see GSP being able to do anything to Anderson. If they were to fight it would end up in a disaster for GSP. GSP is the greatest WW champion in UFC history, he should stay there and keep that legacy.

I'm still pissed at the ref Dan Mirigliatta (or however you spell his name) for not stopping the fight and deduct a point after all those back of the head punches. This isn't the first time where he just watches like a big oaf while a fighter is getting near killed. Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin to bring up an event.

I'll be curious to see if Dan gets reprimanded at all for his incompetence. There's just no excuse for that, I could've done a better job. Also, Kampmann really needs to improve his upper body/head movement. Jesus he just keeps it straight up in the air. Backing straight away wasn't a good idea against Hendricks either.
